As a woman currently pregnant with twins, here’s a bit of advice from me: Help her around the house, take on as much of a load as you can without hurting yourself physically or mentally. I can’t tell you how much it means to me every time my husband cooks or cleans, I’ve never expected either of those things from him but with twins I got big so quick that I physically couldn’t do the things I used to do. It’s relieving whenever he’d just do something without asking me how to do it, google is his friend! It allowed me time to nap and relax and focus on keeping the babies cooking as long as possible. I also think it’s a great idea to become more involved, watch/go to some birthing classes with her, go to the appointments if you can, research baby items that you might need, watch/go to newborn parenting classes, read a pregnancy book for dads, and consider infant CPR classes. That’s your baby in there, and though it might be easy for it to slip to the back of your mind because you can’t literally feel the constant reminder like she can, that baby is coming either way and you’ll be so thankful that you’re going into this prepared! If you’re watching this video and reading this comment, you’re already on your way to being the best partner and father a family could have, keep it up! ☺️

I still got a long way to go and my wife will be due around March 3rd, 2023. I take every piece of advice in good faith and I say thank you. But this is already too scary for me. I beginning to be scared of my wife's presence. I fear saying any word or even comments cos everything gets her annoyed these days. I get some provocative verbal attacks about my parents from my wife, but I can't respond cos it will spark a fight or quarrel. I am constantly exhausted and can't wait for these 5 months to be over for good. I pray God helps me with this. Especially emotionally.

These were right on the money for me. Don't allow her to feel lonely, or on her own in any way. Be empathetic toward her, ACTUALLY put yourself in her shoes. Get INVOLVED - with everything. This is your pregnancy too. Better yourself so that you can be a better father/husband. Understand that your feelings are valid, however much they fluctuate. That's what I'm going to do. Good luck to other upcoming Dads out there, we got this!!!!

I know it’s normal to have stress and anxiety, but my poor husband already has legitimate anxiety that he should be taking medication for, and then during my first trimester I was in a fire, and he was my caretaker, and now he’s looking for a job and we’re expecting our child in less than two months, so in some cases I think the stress level is NOT normal. And that’s okay, as long as we can stay healthy and can depend on each other and get help from family sometimes, we should be just fine.

It’s so hard emotionally to support your pregnancy partner or when she tells you she’s nauseous because your smell even though you don’t stink never imagined it would hurt me so bad hearing that repeatedly but I love her so much and I’m trying my best
@moodyinformed
10 ай бұрын
Aww try not to take it personally. I was the same when I was pregnant, could not stand the smell of my child's father, clean or not. It's hormonal...something about our pregnancy making us reject our man's natural pheromones. I would literally get nauseous and puke but I felt so bad (sometimes just generally annoyed at him). Just keep in mind, we're no longer in control of our bodies or it's functions during that time. Completely beyond our control and we may not be able to express a lot of compassion through our own misery and hormone fluctuations.

Holy shit USA, you seriously have to get this whole healthcare thing figured out. $5000 to $10,000 for the delivery?! I’m in Canada. We have the option to pay for a private room at the hospital, but other than that, we don’t pay anything! It’s all covered. No deductible, no copay. You can pick any OB or midwife you want. I can’t imagine adding that financial stress onto everything else that goes along with pregnancy!
@monicapyle

Yeah my C-section was over 10K
@TheCommonS3Nse
3 жыл бұрын
@@monicapyle Wow, that is horrible! Was any of that covered by insurance? Or was that all out of pocket?! My wife has placenta previa, so she's going to be a scheduled c-section. We got transferred from a midwife to an OB, but we decided to stick with the midwife as well just because they have been great so far. Even having both a midwife and an OB together doesn't cost us anything. The private hospital room will cost $270 per night, but that cost is covered by our employer-provided benefits. So we still won't have to pay anything.

Idk if any other expecting fathers have been feeling more sick the your pregnant wife. My fiance is about 7 months and out of the 7 months she's been lucky enough not to be waking up nauseas, throwing up having trouble sleeping. I'm happy she hasn't been feeling the sickness part. Unfortunately I am the one who's been waking up everyday nauseas,throwing up every morning, I've had insomnia for 17 years so it's even harder to sleep these past 7 months only getting like 1-3 hours of sleep 3 being on a good night which is really rare for me aswell. I found out I'm going to be a dad a few days ago and I'm currently in a state of shock, excitement and surrealment if that's a word! I'm 29 and I've being wanting to be a dad since I was in my late teens. This definitely helped ease my worries so I honestly appreciate you making this video. My dad was pretty violent, toxic and a drunk and I want to be the complete opposite to him.

First time father here too I just found out 2 days ago and I’ve had a smile on my face since the second I found out. Shout out to your father for showing you the WRONG way to do it 🙏🏾

Thank you. My wife and I have been talking about having kids soon and I had a brief panic when we were picking up pre-natal vitamins at the store because it suddenly became very real for me. I'm wanting to make sure I'm excited to be a father and not terrified of all of the stress and challenges to come. Finances are a big part of it, but I can't let that stop me.
