I picked that same model of snare up used as a backup gigging snare. I paid very little for it, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how good it sounds. Not at all like the entry level COS snares I've encountered. It's supplanted my LM400 Supraphonic for the higher volume gigs.

I have a mapex kit but ive always found that premier snares sound so much nicer. More of a military sound and its beautiful

They've made a lot of marching snares and ones for the Military over the years. The Kilt shop here in my town markets their marching snares. I've only got four of their steel snares but soon I will be getting a birch one also. So far, they all sound great

Sounds good. Those are the heads I use Todd. I like them. Those toms....is it me? 12/13

I use Remo Ambassadors for my snare side heads, I prefer them. Never used a coated one though or even a regular single ply on the batter. I'm actually really liking the sound of them compared to double plys.

Sounds like a snappy firecracker going off. It reminds me of the sound of REO Speedwagon. You certainly riled up the dogs.😊😊

@@CheapDrumsGuy Big rack toms for 2! I watched your guy across the Pond that disappeared. Now I understand the dismantling and refurbishing. Watched a video on that 14"x4" premier snare. What a beauty. Stay safe out there today. Theirs knuckldraggers lurking in the shadows. LOL
