I've finally moved on from FSX after 18 years to P3D version 4.5. I did not want to get versions 5 or 6 both for compatibility reasons and because my GPU would potentially be over-taxed in the later DX12 versions (it is a midrange RTX3070). But I am interested to know what actual in-sim (and possibly elsewhere) AA settings you were using since with P3D, for me the anti-aliasing has proved the biggest initial stumbling block. It was really easy to find good settings back in the old DX9 days but since DX11 it seems that apps like Nvidia Inspector (for the sparse grid super sampling) are basically rendered useless since applications seem to completely ignore it and most if not all AA seems to be handled from within the application itself. I have struggled to get comparable AA for any DX11 and beyond application versus the old DX9. Anyway, at this stage since stuffing around with Nvidia inspector for half a day proved pointless with P3D 4.5, I have settled on 4xSSAA in the sim along with FXAA on and 16x aniso. That seems to get me pretty close to the quality of AA I had with FSX though things like runway edge lines still seem to be a bigger problem than FSX and even if you forget about performance and turn the AA up to the absolute maximum 8xSSAA you can see some jagged edges here and there. But I think that is almost inevitable since DX11. The only true way to get the best image quality to my mind would be either on the smallest 4K monitor you can find or as a next best option adding some DSR resolutions above what the monitor can handle in addition to the aforementioned P3D settings. But obviously the best solution for P3D is a 4K monitor of no larger than 32 inches and probably a couple of RTX4090 cards to drive it!!

As it would happen I see your question on AVSIM and I also happened to write up some AA info in P3D v4.5 in a couple of AVSIM threads. I'll link them on your AVSIM post - provided AVSIM lets me (what with the server issues they are having atm). Cheers 🙂
