PREPARATION is a Techno orientated Electronic Music with some focus on abstract spooky sounds.
Cutting this vid within YT Studio to approximately the last 12 minutes, or so, i.e cut to the chase... and it didn't really come together until then -- though I did like a lot of the video effects prior. YT will update when done.
BPM is 160 but it's not too thumping, for better or worse, and the bass is more geared towards didgeridoo than an arpeggiated rythm. I would have actually likes to include some movie shots of aboriginal art or people, but options are a little limited without using some awful AI, stealing a bunch of movie clips, or flying out to Oz camera at the ready.
This track is partly created as practice for Halloween in a few weeks. Last year I did an All Hallows' Eve themed music video and quite liked the result. Basically I'd like to do another one, so am trying a few things out. Guess I need to get in the zone; discover some spooky techno sounds, as such. Fingers crossed I'll get something together but may just not find what I hope.
Again made with a Eurorack synthesizer setup. Some DAW post processing, EQ and creative Noise Gating to give a little air, or reduce frequency overload to some parts. There must be Noise Gating eurorack module for that somewhere out there, VCAs may be capable but they kind of open and close based on a modulation voltage, where I would be looking to open the VCA only if the audio is above a certain level, and possibly multi-channel support, but I am looking for a specific effect so will do some research. Maybe I should just use a compressor with gating, which I have, but bypassed it in this instance as they are having issues and pretty much everything was also going into the stereo output, whereas there were several channels that needed this when the track was later stemmed. So I worked om the track over several days, for better or worse.
The video creation was thankfully fairly quick and painless and is again just meant to be an interesting backdrop/vusualisation.
Selected Eurorack components used include modules from Cosmotronic, Erica Synths and Strymon.
