In this video I present a way to prepare the canvas for painting with acrylic paints.
There are many ways to prepare the canvas for painting, the ones I recommend start from an observation that the less diverse the materials, the better they bond with each other.
Then prepare a canvas for acrylic painting with an acrylic color. Preparing the background for painting is important because it is important to ask yourself:
How long does it take for acrylic paints to dry? How should acrylic colors be mixed?
What are acrylic paints?
In these first videos I answer these questions regarding my experience and in this one in particular I try to perform a preparation to enhance the characteristics of the acrylic color and ensure that we have a surface in which the acrylic colors are less absorbed and therefore a little slower to dry and consequently more agile to be mixed and matched both on the palette but also on the canvas itself.
Acrylic colors have certain characteristics and express a painting that must therefore take into account these two things, drying times and color change during drying.
Breathable washable water-based paint is essential for preparing the surface for effective painting and ready to receive the color in the best possible way, be it liquid or more pasty.
Preparing the canvas for painting with acrylics, but with all the mediums we choose to use is an important element that we haven't talked about yet and that we are starting to address now after almost two years of focusing our attention on color and surface end of the painting.
The acrylic painting lesson is important and must indicate the rules that must be followed to better enhance the characteristics of the type of technique being performed.
And this is what I offer you today.
