My grand pa grew his own barly, oats and wheat..he sold the wheat. He had a machine that rolled or ground the oats and barely. To feed . He caught the straw behind the combine and made a big haystack to feed . This was in the 50's and 60's.. He didn't make hay. I asked about that .. I guess there was enough nutrition in the straw and grain .. Machines in those days didn't have precision computers so they threw a lot of grain behind the machine. Also it would sprout in the field and sprout and grow..over winter. Plus he had 2 sections so a bunch was grazing pasture. He didn't keep as many cows as you do . I love watching you MEMORIES. MISTY WATER COLORED MEMORYS.

Dear Mike, (long but I NEED to share) I have been following your ranch and family for quite some time and like so many, I've been so excited for this 30 in 30 to start. When it started and you said this years theme was "from the heart" I thought that's too cool. While waiting (w not the best patience ) for another new post, I have been going back watching last years 30 in 30 again. I was rewatching #14 and watching you and your beautiful wife fight so hard for that baby. Seeing Erin holding that baby in the water, when you know her arms had to be so tired, watching you sit for hours beside that warmer, waiting, seeing the hope turn to fear and deepening worry, in both your faces, I thought, Man, they have such hearts for these animals .. as awesome of a title as this years is, that shouldn't be just THIS 30 in 30s title, it should be your Ranches theme!! The whole shootin' shebang ... From the heart!!! I sat with tears rolling REwatching last year's episode, seeing the weary looks on your and Erin's faces, seeing you were both tired, heavy hearts, working so hard and then the celebration and joy in your voice face when that baby was standing in the warmer, I found myself (a year later) smiling and quietly saying 'yes!' My friends, you really didn't need to title this season from the heart, to share the message it's from your hearts because that's WHO you and Erin are!! It's ALL done FROM YOUR HEARTS! That IS our Wyoming Life! But it doesn't stop there. Ya see, that first video any of us watch, y'all are planting seeds! Every video, every conversation, every laughter and tear, your fertilizing those seeds in the hearts of the world !! Then you come back again and again, caring for the animals and those seeds you first planted in our hearts!! From the heart IS who you and your family are. Not JUST this season, but year after year. WE are SO blessed to be able to share in some tiny way these adventures. As a Mom, I'm SO thankful I can share these with my children and through the work ' from YOUR hearts', I can teach them the importance, the responsibility, the necessity, the joys and heartbreak, but the rewards for Keeping on after those hard times, as long as whatever they do in life is done from their hearts!! THANK YOU!! So as appropriate as this years theme is, WE all see, hear and know, really, this isn't just a ' theme,' it's WHO YALL ARE!! Not for just 2023, but year after year. And this, THANK YOU is from MY HEART! Thank you Mike and Erin, the kiddos, ranchers and everyone who makes it possible for this Momma and her kiddos to share in one of life's GREATEST Heart adventures, spending time with Our Wyoming Life. May God continue to bless you guys beyond your wildest dreams!!

Great video Mike, I actually really enjoyed it. I like the music, but also being able to hear the machinery working. When operating my machines for demostration to teach people about farming, a comment I often get is people never knew or anticipated the level of sound coming from the machinery. On the farm we never had to yell for our cattle to come in for feeding time, they could hear the tractors and knew by the time of day, we were bringing out the good stuff they liked! The tidbits added were also great! Fun fact, when we ground feed for our cattle, the neighbors could often hear our cattle bellering but not our tractors running. Mooing is apparently better at traveling long distances than the sound of machinery, I suppose evolution had something to do with this.
