Many of our fellow 2a guys like to think of Fox News as pro-2a institution, and that may be (individual news anchors). However, Murdoch, owner of Fox, NY POST, WSJ ect, spent years having his newspapers cover how irresponsible it was for You Tube to monetize gun videos ect (PewDiePie just got the most coverage). They manufactured consent for You Tubes 'addpocalypse', YT didn't want to do that, it cost them a lot of revenue. The reality is, cable news and newspapers are a dying industry, so Murdoch was trying to keep his business interests relevant. In the UK and Australia, Murdoch owns 80-85% of ALL the national press (papers and cable). He put so much pressure on Australian legislators that they passed a law saying You Tube/Facebook, by law, have to pay Murdoch's companies the same rate for a television ad, but on You Tube.*=10-15 times more money for the same ad on a different YT channel.

I took up ju jitsu at 54. I’m probably 20 years older than most dudes in the class. One of the reasons I do it is building and maintaining resilience. At a bare minimum you become much more accustomed to full contact struggle, in a relatively safe training environment.

There's a lot of wisdom in there, man. A huge part of prepping for bad situations is getting used to "the suck." Lifting heavy weights. Rolling in BJJ for an hour. Long rucks. Fast runs. You gotta get used to that suffering, and it grows and prepares you in more ways than just the physical. Keep it up, man.

@Adam Alexander Agree with you not wearing a headlamp during a gun fight. However I suspect he is implying using it in low visibility situations, such as traversing during a power outage, or perhaps walking a dark path at night, or map reading at dark, etc. I do not mean to be rhetoric when I say this one thing, Mike would not stop in a gun battle to wear a headlamp. I do not believe that is his message Adam. Also, a side note... Using a headlamp instead of a hand held flashlight, will free the use of both hands.
@austinproduction19
4 жыл бұрын
Adam Alexander common sense would say that he’s smart enough not to wear it on his head during a gun fight... I’m sure he has one light source because he’s trying to stay light and not have too much stuff, and he can hold it in his hand while doing lowlight gun work and then turn around and wear it for utility stuff

Mike, your one of the most intelligent people I know of BUT, also with the humility and self awareness to SHARE that intelligence with others because we can tell you love people in general and you actually freakin care about most peoples well being and ability to care for OURSELVES too. Your a good man, sir. KZitem I just scared, I think. There’s two reason. The people’s SJW wrathful responses(I could understand a LITTLE of that, right?) and being looked up to to do the next right way to act and respond(the future of behavior/how the world should ideally behave for the sensibilities of EVERYONE...maybe) I’m scratching my head right now because I’m one of those who clearly see EVERY side of ANY argument, and try to! Trust me it’s worth it. Mike, help lead these people man. Your the one that can do that, come up with suggestions for KZitem and BE the understanding voice of your people to help bridge the gap between the difference you are seeing. I know your probably frustrated because I am, you surely have a higher “stress tolerance” that me lol 😉 but think about it. If it comes down to it...I’m with you dude, ready to roll. I’m just sayin...consider it. More importantly, be well and take care of each other. Excellence through discipline. ✌🏼

I’m sure you rather have Mike’s opinion or someone with his background, but You def want to stay vigilant with firearms training/shooting if you have that physical capability. A positive you can def carry more gear, weapons and medical equipment for yourself and others, just not so much equipment that it will slow you down further. Not saying you or others have this mindset but, Never see yourself as a liability or a detriment to those around bc then you have already mentally defeated yourself and those around you! Try to camouflage your chair or scooter to the surrounding wildlife area you will be staying in and moving through. Just some simple ideas. Please Don’t hesitate to ask others who are trusted and like minded to help you with any type of preparation or training. You def will need a wolf pack around for a multitude of reasons, we all do! Your mind will always be your best asset Sir, get more knowledgeable on medical, farming, hunting/gathering non-poisonous food, and tactics.

Hi Old.John, a few ideas on a how to protect yourself is, check out what your area offers as far as firearms training that is accessible, if that is the route that you want to go. Krav Maga one route that you can look into for self defence. Also you can look into just basic self defence classes in your area, sometimes the police departments will give a cheep/free class to the senior centers around here .You probably have a bug out bag already but some things that you might want in it are.Pepper spray, a good flashlight (I like the Makhaira Tactical) A good Pen that you can use as a striking tool. At the end of the day you can use just about anything as a tool to extend your reach. A pot of boiling water, a cast iron skillet, a hammer etc. use what you got. Other things you should have with you in your bag are Medications, what ever you will need for a full day, if you have space 3 days. Depending on what you need, aspirin is pretty easy to carry Catheters and insulin take up more room. Some kind of shelter a poncho, tarp even a jacket can help, Water or some way of cleaning and carrying water, Food. granola bars, mre's I have found that mayday emergency food rations are light and don't take a lot of space but a cliff bar takes even less.(Gummy bears) Buy a few different kinds and taste them, some of them are not to bad some of them taste like dirt. A multi tool, If you are in a wheelchair or your loved one is, look into how to fix it before you need it and if it takes special tools, The same thing goes with your walker or power scooter. If all you need is a spoon all of the knifes in the world aren't going to help you.A good bag to have is a fanny pack, or a pack like what Mike has in this video that way you can keep you stuff on you. Knowledge weighs nothing, Keep learning! I hope that this helps you.
