We take a look at a selection of locos built by Kitson & Company that have survived into preservation.
Works Number 2509 of 1883 - 0-6-0PT A No. 5 - preserved at the Stephenson Steam Railway / North Tyneside Railway.
Works Number 4263 of 1904 - 0-6-2T Lambton Colliery 29 - preserved at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and seen on loan to the Didcot Railway Centre, Great Central Railway and Peak Rail, hauling a selection of passenger and demonstration goods trains. The engine famously hauled the reopening special on the NYMR, double heading the Royal Reopening Train with NELPG's J27.
Works Number 5459 of 1932 - 0-6-0ST Austin 1 / Burtonwood Brewer - preserved by the Llangollen Railway Trust. It was Llangollen's pioneer steam locomotive.
Works Number 5469 of 1933 - 0-6-0ST 44 Conway - preserved at the Middleton Railway, also seen at Locomotion, Shildon.
