As an immigrant I admire and dearly loved Regan, probably the last honest, patriotic president, a president of the people, for the people. He saw and acknowledge the effort and the hard work of his people and the effort of those immigrants that were pursuing the American dream. On his speech were not a single drop of hate, racism, he was truly a beacon of hope for everybody. Those who loved this country sincerely, all I can say, THANK YOU and that we truly miss you.

10/10 Promo. What a great leader and speaker. I was too young to appreciate politics at the time, but I understood the 80’s were a good decade for my parents and family.

He was against a corrupt government. That made him the natural scapegoat for his successors' bad economic policies.

"How many times have we heard people brag about clever ways to avoid paying taxes." America does that every 4th of July.

A short excerpt of this very speech appears near the beginning of the 1985 film To Live and Die in L.A. The bit beginning around 2:54 is heard in the background to give the impression that Reagan was speaking live to a crowd at a hotel while the secret service agents in the film were on detail at the location.

Can't believe that the party of Lincoln, Roosevelt and Reagan is nominating Trump.

and what's the issue with that? You realize Trump governs similar to Reagan? Roosevelt was a progressive and governed opposite to Reagan. He was not a fan of capitalism/free markets.

Why can't presidents follow this model of government? Cut taxes and regulations to unleash innovations and small businesses to produce goods and services, employ others and make people comfortable.

Wealthy people don’t always reinvest and they hoard their money to lobby politicians. The best economy is when the most money circulates throughout the majority. Tax credits and cuts on SMEs and the middle class drive’s innovation while capping deduction and closing loopholes on billionaires and ultra wealthy individuals. Not unchecked elites. We also need balanced budgets, not increased spending while losing revenue. The issue is 90 percent of the benefits goes to billionaires who need it least. Keep in mind I am most certainly a capitalist and billionaires can exist, just fairly.

What a missed opportunity. Ive been saying just gimme a number every time I slave over those damn tax forms every year. I know there's the fact that they would sneak in a lot of BS to that final number, but even still, it would be better most of the time. As long as they gave a clear exanation ofnhownthey cane to that number, with the option to file, Id be more than ok with that (short of eliminating the income tax).

This tax plan must didn't pass because times was hard during his presidency. (This sounds like a good plan but I don't think it made it)
