I really love this video of the Preston of my childhood, especially as it shows my dear old dad, God bless him, at 2:44 -2:46 leaning on the lamp post waiting to get served on the fruit and veg stall. What a lovely surprise when I discovered this. Thanks for uploading it.

Thanks for the huge bout of nostalgia. I was brought up in Preston and left a couple of years after this film. It was a great town. I go back now and am so sad. The heart has been ripped out of it. A lot of the centre is like a bomb site.

I come back to this vid when I need a fix of what Preston was all about...even though so much of old Preston had gone at this point...the essence was still there and is captured here

Yeah, and all the shops AND cinemas were within short distance of each other.Even the market has lost it's soul! Sad to see.Nowadays you have to travel out of town to do most things now.And we don't all own cars......that's called progression.Separate the people as much as possible!

I love the music too!Sounds like a theme tune from 1970's cop series!Well, thanks to Shazam it's Time to Freak by Barrie Gledden & Tim Reilly, released in 2010,strangely enough. They've recreated a real good old sound. Found it available(first in list) to purchase on WWWaudionetworkDOTcom/production-music/time-to-freak_26824.aspx
