I'm a huge fan of Preston Sturges. Obviously, he was a genuis. But for real, he has A LOT OF RACIST IMAGES OF BLACKS IN HIS MOVIES !!!!!! He even serially hired, "Snowflake." (Was Stephin Fetchin, out of town ????) I realize were talking about the 1940's. After Hitler, Americans slowly began to see their own racism more clearly.

Racism is everywhere not just America. He was a man of his time.

You are not being fair. It was of it's time but to be fair there were a lot of silly characters of all races. Have you seen Sullivan's travels? NAACP Secretary Walter White wrote a letter to Preston Sturges congratulating him for his "dignified and decent treatment of Negroes in this scene."

Racially insensitive is not "racism." Racism is Klan meetings, neo-nazi book burnings. What Preston portrayed in his movies was nugatory.

@@vintagemarie2391 you are 100% correct. Racism is in the eye of the beholder. I do not consider his movies objectively as some real Nazi lovers. He is an honorable man that brought 1st class entertainment to America 😊

"After Hitler America slowly began to see their own racism more clearly" ? What a bizarre, nonsensical and Orwellian statement. You must have gone to a public school.

We need more american masters episodes on here damnit! There's 30 plus years of great episodes and you can only purchase like 4 or 5 seasons worth of episodes anywhere online and its beyond a tragedy imo.
