This is a video lecture for Prestressed Concrete Design. This video goes through finding the flexural strength of prestressed concrete members. The rectangular stress block approximation is used with the strand stress equation from ACI 318. The strain compatibility approach for finding the strand stress is also discussed. The ACI 318 strength reduction factors and minimum flexural reinforcement requirements are covered. The video also introduces types of corrosion-resistant reinforcement, carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) and high-strength stainless steel (HSSS), and how to analyze members with these types of reinforcement. A comparison is provided at the end of the presentation between the behavior of a rectangular beam and prestressed pile with the three different types of reinforcement.
