@Pedro Ortega ok I’m gonna say it. Rick and Morty is a good show...but it isn’t a great show. There are genuinely well done emotional scenes and beautiful alien universes, but they rely too much on reference humor, an overly cynical viewpoint to the point of faux nihilism (which is why the 13 year olds love it so much), and a confused message. Rick is a miserable loser who uses his intellect to hide his sadness, so why are there episodes like vindicators where he is shown to be justified? Also Vindicators was a fucking terrible episode, if you want a deconstruction of the Superhero genre, watch Invincible, the Boys, or even The Tick. It would have fit the message of the show better if the team were true heroes and Rick was just projecting his shitty view of the world onto them, only to realize he was in the wrong at the end. You know...like they did with all the great emotional episodes that everyone remembers? TLDR you right, Primal is better than Rick and Morty.

@@CharlesJThomas Speaking of which, that's another thing about _PRIMAL_ that needs to be appreciated more: the animation. I can't tell you how many times I've recently got bored of DC's movies because they often animate with what is obviously TV budget, it's looks very standard and often generic and doesn't stand out as much (as well as some music soundtracks for many of them), but _PRIMAL_ pushes the boundaries more because not only is it animated by French animation studio Studio La Cachette, but you can obviously tell Adult Swim spared no expense and gave the show movie production budget (and a more memorable, kick-ass soundtrack), that's extremely rare.

Absolutely amazing show, and to me very unique. Ultra gore? Yeah, it can be hard to watch, but the story behind the mess is worth it in my opinion (well, unless you have a true unshakable fear/ phobia of blood and guts, it's understandable to avoid entirely). I'm surprised you didn't bring up episode 8, which holds the most in story telling in season one. Heartbreaking? Absolutely, and without a single actual word spoken. I mean I can go on and on, with each episode being unique in their own stories and being interesting all the while. To add to the night feeder episode, I liked the detail of the victims holding true fear in their eyes at the very last second. It's quick enough that you can see it and your mind fills in the blanks with possible nightmarish abominations. What is so terrifying that a sabre tooth tiger suddenly looks helpless? Or makes the biggest dino in a herd (I think they were pentaceratops and not triceratops, but they're almost the same size so I'm the only one who cares) suddenly try to run immediately after thinking of defending itself? It also helps to see the carnage while it's happening, as you feel as helpless as the dinos in distress. It's one thing seeing the aftermath or hearing it in the distance, but it's a whole other game when you see something's best efforts be wasted so easily.

Episode 9 fucking enthralled me right from the get-go, but what really drove home the sheer danger of the Night Feeder to me was twofold. One, it was perfectly comfortable with diving headfirst into a herd of healthy adult triceratopses and two, it didn’t just kill its victims; it PULVERIZED THEM. With the way it hunted so boldly, with such ease, and in a way that almost no predator on Earth does, I was almost expecting the Night Feeder to be some kind of alien horror like a Xenomorph or some Lovecraftian monster.
