Dr. Raj Vuppalanchi, a highly experienced and accomplished hepatologist who currently holds a tenured Professor of Medicine position at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Vuppalanchi completed his medical school at Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, followed by an internal medicine residency in NY, before moving to Indiana University to complete fellowships in Clinical pharmacology and Gastroenterology. He is widely recognized for his expertise in hepatic safety and regularly serves on various data safety monitoring boards for late-stage clinical trials. His research interests lie in developing novel therapeutics for NASH and PBC. Currently, Dr. Vuppalanchi is the global PI for the phase 3 trial evaluating Saroglitazar for the treatment of PBC and will share his personal insights about advancing a drug development program and eventual regulatory approval. The current talk was presented at the INEDSYS Hepatology Club meeting on Saturday, July 15.
