Excellent information presented here. I've suffered from this awful illness for 8 years, and my legs feet, even my toes are so swollen, I have developed large skin ulcers on my legs, which haven't healed even after many staph infections, and cellulitis hospitalizations my abilities to walk, work etc, are extremely diminished, and as a result, I am no longer able to work. I am grateful for any studies of this condition. Thank you for your very important work.

Hi, I'am Rochanne and I speak from Brazil (so excuses for the english). First of all, I'd like to thank you all for these educational videos that help us a lot in understanding a little more about our condition. There's a thing that Dr. Peter said that really made me perplex and reflective. So, I have primary linphedema (in the left leg) of unkown cause, since no one that I know of in my family has the problem. But, my patern aunt does have the crohn's desease and recently my older sister developed a lactose intolerance and others gut problems, that no doctor could say what it was. They said it was not chron's desease itself but cannot say exactly what it is. As I think it's a lot of coincidence and i've never heard of any correlaction of lymphedema and crohn's desease now I'm thinking that might have some correlaction in my problem and my sister's. As they might be correlated with my aunt desease. Do you think it might be a possibility? Thank you very much!

I have had it for about 8 years, caused by drug use. I no longer use but I can not get healed. This is a awful disease. I just got home from the hospital yesterday. I have large ulcers on both legs and giant hands. I'm hopeful that modern medicine may help me more then it did when I was first going through it and seeing doctors for it. They had no answers for me then. I was just referred to a neurological surgeon and wound clinic at Duke University hospital. I emphasize with any of you suffering through this nightmare.

To say that groin hernia surgery can’t cause lymphedema is laughable, especially if mesh is used, the fibrosis that occurs with chronic inflammation is definitely a factor in impeding the flow of lymph fluid. The lengths that dr’s go to to protect other dr’s from any fault is so obvious in this video, especially when he spoke on the patient with hip surgery, he went out of his way to prove an abnormality in the other hip as to prove the patient had a pre disposition for lymphatic disease, I bet his findings are subjective, especially under scrutiny. Any surgery especially one in the groin or breast area can affect the lymphatic systems.

Hoping for help from Dr Steven Levin in Eau Claire, WI soon. He deals with interventional radiology, which I need.. again. But he also, deals with lymphedema. I also have nerve damage from the sharp debridement of venous ulcers from years ago. My last wounds have been open for a couple years already now. In the past, they'd heal for a year or two, then reopen again. The nerve damage that I received due to the sharp debridement causes those nerves to hurt the same whether the wounds are open or completely healed! I have to go to Mayo in Rochester to have a nerve conduction test done before I can get the sural nerve removed. Without that removed, I could tolerate having compression on that foot again.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I was diagnosed in December of 2009. You're the first person I've heard who developed lymphedema because of the covid shots. I hope both of us can get help you need...

Do you have insurance.? They may fund all or part. It's called a neumatuc pump. I wouldn't obtain it from a nedical supply. There is a national company called TACTILE that makes neumatic pumps which is a pump with a sleeve that goes over ur leg or wherever it is..
