Yikes!!!!!! I’ve seen a few guys smash their fingers with the sledgehammer when trying to close up clamps.I like to keep mine nice and tidy to avoid needing any assistance from said sledge 😂

Sometimes you get a rough mix, or mixer drum full or “treats” and it can be every 2-3 minutes 👍🏼

I actually don’t mind it. Most of our jobs use 2” or 2.5” line. If I were hauling around 4” system I’m fairly confident that my opinion would differ ever so slightly 😂😂😂

Where's the nerf ball for the clean out?

We typically don’t use the nerf ball ahead of the primer. Lots of guys like that method. I personally have not had great success with it.

why not just have the customer pay for 1m of grout?
@canadianconcretepumper1979
7 ай бұрын
The only jobs we really order grout for are high-rise/placing-boom and 500+ feet hardline pours. With small load and delivery charges, one cubic meter of grout is insanely expensive. We can accomplish the same thing (give or take a few smacks with the mini-sledge) using $2 worth of bentonite powder. Also, ready mix outfits these days aren’t super keen on tying up a truck to haul just one cubic meter of material.

Our guys always prime with dawn dish soap and water... You just have to put the first bit outside the form till the mud comes out

Why dont you prime through the hopper?
@canadianconcretepumper1979
Жыл бұрын
Doing so results in significantly greater amounts of containment material to dispose of. Also, the theory (or at least my theory) is to keep the primer ahead of the concrete rather than having the two mix together as they would in the hopper. Mixing lead to segregation. This is just my preference and what has worked best for me in our area with our concrete mixes.

This one we had to break apart because a bucket of water was mistakenly dumped into the lines between the two batches of bentonite. The following week we poured here and the bucket of water was introduced ahead of the second batch of bentonite (as was intended in this prime) and we made it through in one go.
