Question: I have enjoyed watching your hunts for bison, elk, pig, deer, and rabbits with Atlatl, bow, and smooth bore . But I have never seen you craft and hunt with a blow gun. Why? The Cherokee and most of the Southeastern Tribes used them to good advantage on small game and looks to me they would be mighty handy for squirrel, rabbits, and birds. So I'm putting in a request to see you do that.

@2:40: There is a practical way to use the thin wild rabbit skin: If you cut it directly when ists fresh in the form of a long spiral so that you actually end up with a long rope and then twist it while being stretched (lets say tied with one end to a thin tree) in a way that the meat sides of the fur rope you made attach to each other you create a fur rope which then can be used for your clothing.

I enjoyed the video. Of course, I love Cottontail Rabbit meat, almost as much as I like Venison. I saw a way last year on a different site, that showed how to gut them, without even cutting them open. You grab them with a really firm grip, where the throat meets the head, then you essentially squeeze them all the way down like a tube of toothpaste, and the end trails, will fall out the rectum onto the ground. I'll be trying that method this year, because I'm always afraid, that I'm going to nick the bladder, or get feces on the meat, and this looks like it will prevent that from happening. I love your videos, and all your information. Thank you for sharing your vast amounts of knowledge.

I see so much about having to worry about tularemia in rabbits when it's warm out. Is this one of those things that overblown or is it a real concern?
@b.gainzzz-h4y
3 жыл бұрын
It’s pretty overblown the only thing that you have to worry about is if it’s near civilization because then it could be eating trash which would cause it to possibly have diseases but if you are in a wooded area and ur at least a few miles away from human territory then you will be fine
