I have smoked a pipe for 20 years now and just tried PA for the first time 6 months ago. It’s amazing stuff and I smoke it every morning with a coffee. It’s pure enjoyment

Now you’ve got the right idea😜 Personally, I find a bowl of this in the morning paired with either Ravens Brew dead reach coffee, or the Colombian roast from Death Wish Coffee seems to be my favorite

Welcome to the YTPC crew! So-Cal Piper shouted you out so I'm glad to meet ya! I've been a pipe guy for over 40 years, and just tried PA for the time a few days go! For some reason, I expected it to be kinda rough around the edges...but it was mild and very easy burning! I learn something new every way...take care, man!

PA means Pipe Appeal! A classic for sure. Always will have a spot in my cellar as long as they make it. If you want a change of pace do a “codger combo” of 2/3 PA and one third Paladin. Very nice!

i've grown to enjoy PA more than carter hall as of late. although an iconic brand with a long history, it's an underrated smoke these days. it's got a more savory topping than some of the other otc burleys. i hate that it's no longer available in the pouches. at my local cig shop, which is really the only place around here that carries pipe tobacco, they've priced the 14 oz. tub at $51 before taxes! as a result, i've started buying the sutliff match from WV smokeshop. i'm pretty sure it's the same blend as "prince andrew" from hearth and homes (a sutliff brand). thanks for the review!

Think it runs $37 through Pipes & Cigars site. Wish I could get pouches but will get to try it soon.

PA is great. It’s not an “all day-every day” for me, but there is always a time & place for it. There is something fun about having some codger blends on hand and this one is the one in my rotation. When I want something to break in a new pipe or just something that smokes cool and is not complicated with my morning coffee… PA fits the bill.

The Prince was my favorite blend. I had to stop pipe smoking because it triggers my acid reflux 😢

Didn't you do nasal snuff reviews also? I got a tub of this a few months ago and have been loving it. A clear step up in quality from the USA-made pouches. You got a very new one, no warning label! The Ingles I was at I saw had the Carter Hall with no warning label but the Prince had one. Not that it matters it ages in the tubs. They just started making in the Dominican Republic in 2021, so it's still recent. I do plan to get the Carter Hall tub there too as my last pouch is about out....The old PA in the pouches had a weird chemical taste unless smoked SUPER slow, this doesn't have that. After opening the tub and smoking some it already has improved over the months. Top 3 codger blend for sure. What more can I say - smokes cool, tastes great, lights easy and stays lit better than most tobaccos.....I love PA. Hate having to buy tubs but it's worth it to have this on deck. It's perfect when I have moments when I'm not sure what to smoke.

I wholeheartedly agree. The chemical taste you used to get off of it or at least off of the old ones was propylene glycol are used to work on heating systems for about 20 years so I’m very familiar with the films off of that material. I think what happened is that they must have switched over to What I Believe to be vinegar as their preservative because every once in a while, I get the faintest hint of a vinegar flavor off of one of my puffs. As for the snuff reviews, the answer is yes those as well as quite a few sweetish reviews are on my other channel. @thereal907

oh ok that's where I've seen your snuff reviews. I thought I remembered you did one on Dragon Madras I saw. Also that's very interesting about the PG, I figured it was some sort of chemical but I'm not familiar with how PG tastes on its own - now I know, though! I've had that vinegar tang from a VA-PER Sutliff blend. I wasn't sure if it was casing or fermentation. I do get what you're talking about with the PA also. Either way whatever they use now for PA is great. I have found it to have more flavor than a lot of top level burley flakes like HH Burley Flake surprisingly. I mean, for the price difference between an expensive tin, it's surprising how good PA and CH are@@907smokes

I havent tried yet , and look forward to it. I imagine it to be similar to a Sir Walterish taste for some reason. Which I like .But have had that vision a long time , but know it will be different.

I haven't had either this or CH but your reaction to PA seems much more favorable. Do you stiĺl feel the same way after a few months and many bowls later?
