In the actual version, Prince recites the Lord's Prayer in the middle of the song. Loved it!

When I was in high school, if you wanted to get the party started, you'd drop a PRINCE record on the TURNTABLE and drop the needle. The party would be thumping in no time. ✌️

@@JenSell1626 Prince is a COMPLETELY different artist than ANYONE you will EVER see or hear. He has hundreds of masterpieces. Not to give him his proper due , is NO reflection on Prince rather one's lack of knowledge to his music. I am 59 years old and I grew up on MJ and I didn't get to Prince until I was 19. I saw MJ live twice and Prince live 17 times ... MJ was good , Prince is otherworldly.

Little piece of advice : On 1980's Prince videos, always check out for the full version because many Prince videos on YT are shortened to around 3 minutes in order to adjust to MTV's requirement for being broadcasted at the time. In the case of "Controversy" you're missing the end part that includes the Lord's Prayer, hence the church stained glass windows in the background. I also recommend you to check out his Inglewood 2011 live encore where he's covering several funk standards : kzitem.info/news/bejne/rYSop3qYbHtjnag

Prince is his own genre. Nobody else like him. He's like a one man army and he checks every box 💜 You should check out something from his 1999 album next. I'd react to Little Red Corvette or 1999. He was also a notorious ladies man. We all loved him❤

Yea and this song had integrity which coming from his image you wouldn't expect it from him, at least i didn't. (WE'RE ALL JUST THE SAME) it's something that old Black guys say which means we're all LIVING and we're all DYING so who among us is special.

You definitely have to do more Prince reactions, 20 plus albums, 40 years of Music by him to explore. Might I suggest Raspberry Beret next ♥️.

My mama had this record. I’d steal it and listen to it on my little pink record player with the sound turned down and my ear to the speaker because even at 8 years old I knew it was dirrrrrty!😂😂😂 You listen to MJ in front of family. You listen to Prince ALONE❤❤❤

I am not against Michael Jackson, but Michael Jackson was a Entertainer. Prince was a musician, he has 39 alben, Michael Jackson has 6,in there lifetime. Prince could do a record alone, Michael Jackson don't. Prince was on a another level.
