I'm revisiting his catalog as well. I haven't been able to listen to anything but Prince since... you know. I love that you also have great affection for When We're Dancing Close and Slow as well as It's Gonna Be Lonely. His first great ballads, IMO. Also agree that Sexy Dancer or I Feel for You should have been the third single. One minor, insignificant quibble. This album is from 1979, not 1980.

"Bambi" just plain kicks ass! But "Sexy Dancer" was the first song I ever heard from Prince, watching his performance on "American Bandstand". Didn't really pay much attention to him then, but then when "Dirty Mind" came out, that was the party album for the people I was hanging out with. Then when "Controversy" came out, that sealed the deal! Looking forward to those albums, and the rest!

"Sexy Dancer" sealed the deal for me! Although I'd known about Prince since his first album, SD is the song that made me a fan for life. Dirty Mind is my favorite Prince album.

When I first heard I Wanna Be Your Lover, I'm not gonna lie. I thought it was a woman. My jaw dropped when I found out it was a dude. I was 8 when it came out. Didn't take into full consideration that he played all the instruments until Dirty Mind came out. Sexy Dancer was a beast. That long version is insane

Warner Bros picked the songs for The Hits Vol 1 & 2. They didn't even let Prince get involved.

love the video tribute to prince, but why aren't you playing any of his music on video?? there are new generation that probably don't know any of his old songs... I'm just saying. it would be nice to at least listen to the song your speaking about..

I'm pretty sure there are copyright laws protecting Prince's music from being played in specific outlets. He mentions it in his first Prince tribute video.

+jadakid 69 well maybe there shouldn't be a tribute video of just talking about it if there are generation that probably don't know any of his music.. it sucks not able to listen to his music on KZitem.. on less you buy his music to make it copyright idk

+dahlia817 Prince never wanted his music on the internet, and Funktual is honoring that. He would probably get into copyright problems if he did play the songs. Prince was actually suing people for posting his music online a few years ago!
