None of the money from property taxes is being used properly in this county. Taxpayer money is being wasted. The same public schools that were around 50 years ago in Prince George's County are the same schools barely standing today. Why aren't new schools being built? Everyone living in this county who knows better has their kid enrolled in a private school somewhere, but these same people are paying thousands in property taxes that are suppose to go towards updating public schools and making conditions in the county better. Residents are paying all this money in property taxes, but they get NOTHING in return for it. No better schools, no health food grocery stores, nicer restaurants, modern clubs, etc. And it's because black people must vote, vote for the right people, and complain to politicians and officials. Politicians must be regularly bombarded with letters, visits to their offices, or even VOTED OUT of office for major changes to happen. Also, the crime in this county is outrageous. It's the reason why people and businesses WITH MONEY and capital to build don't come to this county. Corporations and business owners avoid black neighborhoods because they're concerned about theft, crime, and vandalization. No one is going to invest in an area where crime is prevalent. Black people must have much more structured and organized households. Get MARRIED before having kids to establish more unified and supportive home environments for youth to stay academically preoccupied with their studies and out of trouble.

@@pearbear319 Maria do not feel ashamed. You deserve a decent place to live, work, and enjoy recreation. It is the fault of racist and neglectful politicians who ultimately decide which residents in America get more than they need, and which residents get absolutely nothing. Their decisions are all based on zip codes. Every politician knows where predominately black, white, and Latino people live in America, just as we all do. They are not going to flood communities of color with millions of dollars for newer schools and infrastructure when they don't live in these communities. Most people think of their self-interest first. Politicians' kids are enrolled in private schools. They pay thousands in tuition for their privileged kids to attend elitist schools. If they're spending all this money for their kids to attend the best schools the DMV has to offer, then why would they spend millions of state money to educate students of color attending public schools, for free? Think about it. A lot of these politicians detest public schools. They would never let the government teach their children. They would never enroll their kids in public schools to be educated in ways that aren't aligned with their core values. So, how can we expect them to support public schools, much less the students of color enrolled in them?

This is good news that the two wealthiest majority black counties in the country are here right next to each other. Now the comparison is really no comparison (population size wise) when Prince George’s County’s 2023 population (998,335) is 5x more than Charles County’s (172,638). Also what people really should be looking at specifically in PGC is all of the “other” folks that are moving in AND the new “commercial businesses” that are moving in and opening up (new commercial TAX REVENUE) as well as the new Southern MD Rapid Transit light rail 🚈 system that will be coming from Charles County into Prince George’s county in the next 10-15 years. More successful profit earning businesses (generating local, state and federal taxable income) is what improves every jurisdiction (schools, roads, safety, transit, housing, etc etc etc)

Wealthiest County... ? I see garbage everywhere where I live...all the time in this Temple Hills, MD neighborhood... street lights need changing after 11years... I see garbage-tossed fast food, so-called chinese food, containers small grocery store bags tied with garbage inside tossed on the road, on the sidewalk within the neighborhood. Why? Is this a cause-and-effect issue of ignorance being impoverished with lack of care or just nasty, filthy behavior... such as not washing your hands after using the public bathroom stool, at work or home, or not brushing your teeth or taking a bath or shower regularly? Is it the county or municipality's lack of services for certain neighborhoods? The perception that areas like Temple Hills, MD, and Anacostia are treated poorly by municipalities can stem from several factors, including historical, economic, and social issues. Here are a few key points: 2- cents, this is and not a perception- this is the reality. Dear Ms./Mr. County Executive 1. Historical Disinvestment: Many neighborhoods in the DMV area, including Temple Hills and Anacostia, have faced long-term disinvestment. This means they haven’t received the same level of funding and resources for infrastructure, schools, and public services as other areas 2-cents -(Taxes increase, cost of living still affects "disinvestment" and the PGC is one of the wealthiest - disadvantaged counties - How is that possible? 2. Economic Disparities: These areas often have higher poverty rates and lower median incomes compared to more affluent neighborhoods. This economic disparity can lead to fewer resources and opportunities for residents 2- cents (MGM Casino is less than 1o minutes from where I live in Temple Hills, MD. I work every day and pay taxes. I maintain my property, and my garbage is collected weekly ..just like the garbage in other more "affluent neighborhoods). 3. Social Inequities: Issues such as systemic racism and segregation have historically impacted these communities, leading to unequal treatment and fewer opportunities for advancement 2 cents and yet - and the PGC is one of the wealthiest - disadvantaged counties - How is that possible? 4. Municipal Priorities: Sometimes, municipal priorities may focus on more affluent or rapidly developing areas, leaving less affluent neighborhoods behind. This can result in a lack of investment in critical services and infrastructure 2-cents (PGC focusses more on the "affluent" areas WHILE all AREAS MUST PAY TAXES while the less affluent neighborhood's taxes also increase) 5. Community Advocacy: Despite these challenges, many residents and community organizations are actively working to improve their neighborhoods through advocacy, local initiatives, and partnerships with local governments 2-cents 8-11 years and counting. It’s a complex issue with deep-rooted causes, but understanding these factors can help in addressing the disparities and working towards more equitable treatment for all communities. (IS IT really complex THOUGH?) (It is interesting how when people with money take an interest in developing (making money) and invest in a neighborhood "revitalized/gentrification," the simple things the municipalities didn't take care of such as filthy, litter in the neighborhood is suddenly addressed County/municipality - effort! Maryland Beautiful program... trees were planted in this Temple Hills neighborhood, but when i look around i still see anexcessive amount of garbage practically everywhere.. it sickness me to stomach. The people who toss garbage or contribute to the litter may need mental health support. They don't realize they contribute to rodents and other unwanted pests and undesirables in a neighborhood or maybe litter bugs like garbage and filth everywhere because that makes them comfortable. I don't know, but it is a sickness This is not working - dnr.maryland.gov/met/Pages/grant_programs.aspx

Nonsense spin by politicians. The truth is people who can afford to leave are moving because of the crap that's entering the county. Many of the elected officials are focused on bringing more people & businesses to the county, development which has not generally (if at all) benefited the long-term residence. Due to this: 1. The traffic volume is rising and becoming more dangerous because of rampant speeding. 2. Crime against everyday working people has risen. 3. Citizens calls for assistance in the community are largely ignored. Remember, peace is priceless

How do I know. 98% of the aggressive drivers have windows tinted so dark, you can't see anything inside at all. When I see crime stats take a nose dive for the good then we'll celebrate. But for now, the almost daily posts from Charles County Sheriff about finding guns in schools doesn't exactly paint a positive picture for this story. It isn't a police or school problem, it's a parenting problem and the lack of the justice system holding people accountable for their actions. Laws apply to everyone.
