I enjoy the game. The translation isn't *that* bad. At least you can understand what's going on, even if the sentence structure and grammar is off. I'm glad I got it. The only question I have, is there a button I can press to speed up the schedule parts? If I could alter things about the game... Okay, I would do a slightly altered, and improved, translation. Also, add to the Options menu. I want to be able to turn the voices off, if I feel like it, or even alter how fast the text plays. Also, actually do it like in PM2, where having the summer/winter clothes was good because heat/cold could affect her. I have learned to not waste my money on those clothes in this game because it does nothing.

Even though the translation is awkward af, I'm just glad we can understand it in English now AT ALL. My first time playing this game was the Korean version, which means I was going by "first option is always yes, second is always no" logic to make menu choices, and trying to figure out which stats were which by context. My first ending was that boring government-worker one, but I didn't know its actual name. :P

Which version is this exactly? It looks like the HD version of Princess Maker 3, which was updated some time after the PM3 regular version but Im unsure. I heard they used the updated PC version for this (the HD one on Steam) but I want confirmation from your end.

It is still up for sale on the eShops in North America and Europe. But if you are referring to a physical copy, they didn't make one. The only physical copies of Princess Maker 3 that exist are the old Japan-only versions for PS1, Sega Dreamcast, and Sega Saturn.

They changed it recently. It's now rated T. But in the review trailer it says rated M. Nintendo even removed the other Princess Maker games leaving only this FTCT. I don't know what happened. I was about to buy one of the other titles.

Not surprised the translations are kinda meh, most game companies pay their translators a pittance for all the work they do. So they get what they pay for.

I was considering getting this, but the art of the “princess” made me change my mind. That hair is *terrible.* Glad I didn’t get it, if such a complicated game doesn’t even have a tutorial, and they took out one of the fun bits from 2. (At least, I assume it was fun. The LP-ers I’ve watched seemed to enjoy the dungeon.) Shame, a lot of it reminded me of Monster Rancher 1, but nostalgia’s not worth it at that price. Thanks for this review!
@alexislee6825

If you think this is complicated pm5 is even worse. This is like all the other princess makers beside the 5th one. So having a tutorial isn't that necessary. A good bit of people say they like this one over the others so. I looked up Monster Rancher 1 and that's a simple RPG. The princess maker series is a life simulation game that has bits of RPG but it's extremely simple and can be avoided completely. If your looking for a game that you can pretty much do whatever you want and still get a ending then you should try it. If your looking for just a RPG then this isn't the game.

@@alexislee6825 Being "like the other Princess Maker games except 5" doesn't really help me any though, as I've never played any of them myself, and this is the only one on Switch. The setup looks incredibly unintuitive, so new players would likely be overwhelmed. And even though Monster Rancher was a "simple rpg," it was the life simulator aspects of the first one that made it my favourite in the series. Sending your monster out to do jobs around town to raise it's stats looks almost exactly like doing the same in PM, which is why I considered this game at all.

@@KorilD KorilD well I thought you watched a pm game? The setup is confusing but its easy to learn hard to master type thing. Yes is a bit over whelming at first but by the end of the game most of your stats will be near max. I didn't mean to offend when I said a simple rpg. I looked up the game a little more and honestly this game doesn't appear to do your looking for compared to other games. But if you do like grindy life sim games then do try it. If you have a pc then download prince maker 2 it's free and its just like princess maker.

Don’t worry much about the lack of tutorial. I played the early PM series (1-3) back in the days when i was in my teens and had no problem (google wasn't a thing yet). And now you got plenty of guides for all the endings online.

I actually really like the art style. Yes it can looks less pretty sometimes. But that’s just the old games fault. The game was made in the 90s. And something like that was incredibly amazing then. I still love the art style. And am praying for a PSM2, PSM4, and PSM5 English Nintendo release. But of course it’s your own opinion if you personally don’t like the art style. Everyone taste is different. And I’m glad it’s like that.
