Thank you for the video and specifically for mentioning all 4 screws. I had rebuilt the fuser and it worked well for a while then began the grinding noise. I replaced the gear set and that cleared things up for a bit but the grinding returned. Purchased a rebuilt fuser and the grinding was still present. After I watched your video, it brought to mind this small screw that was sitting behind the printer for a while. I had neglected in all repairs to replace the lower left grounding screw. I replaced the screw and all grinding was eliminated. I imagine if the torque causes even a minor movement the gears will be misaligned. I had forgotten that there was the grounding screw, Thanks again!

The 3005 stinks. Try replacing the tray 2 solenoid. Arrrrrgh

TheGrayman1234 the real and permanent way to fix a P3005 is buy a new printer. Preferably an old LaserJet 4, 5, 4000/4050/4100, 5si/8000
