The Priority 600 is designed as a computer bike. That said, Ryan Van Duzer (KZitem) initially took it on the road as a light touring bike. Now that he is more into off-road “Bike Packing” his Priority 600 has reverted to a grocery hauler and around town transportation in Boulder, Colorado. He now uses an offshoot of this bike… the bike packing Priority 600X.
I mostly love this bike and am enamored with the virtually maintenance free Pinion Drive train with the Gates belt and have been working hard to dial in the rest of this bike for riding on both asphalt and packed stone rail trails… and it is still a work in progress.
This video provides a look at a few warts as well as tips and techniques for packing out my Priority 600 for full-up bike touring… tent, sleep gear, stove and cooking gear, and all that is needed for a couple of weeks on the road. I am not riding around the world so my needs are simple. In my 2 years of ownership, I took my first ride from Connecticut to Vermont and last year I did a long multi day camping loop up in Maine.
This video shows my recently changed pack set up as well as some of my thoughts and modifications on using the Priority 600 for bike touring. Watch, comment, provide other ideas… looking forward to your comments.
If anyone has any thoughts on a handlebar replacement for the OEM flat bar, I would appreciate it.
