If the moderator has permitted, you can chat privately with anybody else in your session. Let’s take a look.
By default, you see the Everyone chat when you first open Chat.
Select Previous Panel by the Everyone heading. Then just type the name of the person you want to chat with and start chatting.
Moderators have the option to monitor private chat. If the moderators are monitoring private chat, you will see a warning at the top of the chat panel.
Alternatively, you can start a private chat from the attendees list.
To do so, select Send a chat message from the Participant Controls menu next to the name of the person you want to message privately.
Back on the Chat panel, you can easily keep track of all of your concurrent chats.
And finally, if the moderator has disabled private chat, attendees will only be able to send private messages to the moderators.
Now let’s take a quick look from the moderator’s perspective.
Moderators can easily manage all the channels from the Chat panel. By default, Moderators have access to the Everyone channel as well as their own private Moderators channel. Additionally, any direct private messages from attendees will also appear under My Chat Channels. Under Supervised Channels, a list of all supervised chats appears if the moderator opted to supervise private chat. The moderator can access and participate in any of these chats.
