Nailed it. Bold to come out and say this publicly as well. Respect.

Getting robbed or worse are other negatives of home games. Great points about how successful a lot of players are in high stakes homegames though not necessarily at poker!

sometimes the boy who cried wolf actually sees a giant chupacabra and is terrfied and is trying to warn everyone else and no one is listening and then he gets eaten in one bite but he doesnt die and he lives in the dark forsaken belly of a legendary beast for the rest of his time and no one can hear him scream cuz his screams are muffled by a chupacabras intestines and such - marc

Great video. They one thing you guys are leaving out are how some pros are driving good Recs away from the rooms. No one wants to watch a guy tank all the time and then tip the dealer $1. This has driven them to the private games where it’s more fun for the recs either home games or private games in rooms.

for sure! to be clear - i have zero problems with recreational players choosing to play in home or private games. - marc

My websearch says Gethen is American but he sounds British to me. Can you explain? I'm British! 😊 (My 3rd HH clip and I'm intrigued by the content.)

It’s more the scabby euro pros that come over for months at a time in groups that are killing live games imo. No one wants to play a table full of gazzybs and don’t blame whales for leaving for friendlier home games. Bart was onto something when he suggested clubs start banning euros without driving licenses.

Other thing about home games is the insane rake typically involved

true! tough to beat unless players are absolutely punting (and even then the rake is still somtimes too high to overcome)

I learned my lesson on playing "Non-Sanctioned" poker games a long time ago. Besides, I know a Card Machinic. If you think you are too smart to be cheated right in front of your face, you are NOT.. At least at a Casino or Card room there are a ton more eyes on things and their Dealers are Vetted.

I agree about the private games in casino part, but isn't there a factor of random public games of those high stakes wouldn't naturally form as much? Also the rec guy doesn't have to agree to play if he doesn't want too.

A stream like neeme or rampage or Mariano is used to learn better strategies while your playing
@hungryhorsepoker
Жыл бұрын
while those are both very very solid players, watching streams is definitely not how we recommend learning poker strategy. it’s a great form of entertainment, but if you want to be a better basketball player watching a game on tv isn’t gonna help your 3 point shot.

@@hungryhorsepoker A good compromise might be to A: get better myoo-zak, then B: play it so low that it's only barely audible; the vibe intended still comes across, whilst the music won't annoy any but an infinitesimally small number of people who, ironically, you probably wouldn't want as subs anyway. Cheers.
