As a pilot and retired navy air traffic controller , I’d like to make you jjst a little smarter and be able to speak professionally , I don’t have a pilots license , I do have a pilot certificate ! I’m sure you worked hard on that certificate , so please never tell someone you have a Pilots license . !

Very helpful content, I'd like to know where can I get a flying binder like yours
@TurningFinalOfficial
3 ай бұрын
Hey Stuart. Thank you for the kind words and watching the video my friend! I purchased this binder from Amazon and essentially filled it with notes I took down from my lesson debriefs with my instructor. If you have a flight instructor currently, have he or she walk you through the steps of each maneuver and write them down for your chair flying binder. Hope this helps!

I have been wanting to earn myself a pilot's license for a long time, and it seems right as I get to where I can go for it, time & money-wise, everything flops and I'm back to dreaming stage. Do they allow mentors in pilot school? I imagine it would certainly help. Once one gets a commercial license, how hard is it to get a job flying? What are the prospective employers primary concerns that I may want to address early on?

If I just want to get a PPL for now, should I get the 1st class medical? Does it cost more?
@TurningFinalOfficial
25 күн бұрын
If you plan to pursue aviation as a career at all in the future, I would go ahead and get the first class medical exam. This way you are certain there won’t be any medical road blocks in the near future prior to dumping a ton of money into this career path. My AME charges the same amount for all medical exams but your results may vary. Thanks for watching!

Got it. Thank you! For the PPL, if I fail the first-class medical for some reason, can I take the third-class exam?
@TurningFinalOfficial
25 күн бұрын
The only differences between the three exams are: the eye standards (they are more rigorous for first- and second-class medicals); an electrocardiogram for any initial first-class medical exam over age 35, and then annually over age 40; and the frequency requirements for the three examinations. I believe the only thing that would hold you back physically would be irregular EKG results or poor visions without any sort of corrective lenses. I wear contact lenses when I fly so my medical card states I must wear protective lenses when flying. I would encourage you to find an AME in your area that is also a pilot. They tend to be the best medical examiners as they too have a passion for aviation and want to help rather hold us back.

I will do as you suggested. I plan on getting my PPL after a few years. However, if I want to have a first-class medical exam now, can I do that? Does the result expire?
@TurningFinalOfficial
25 күн бұрын
The medical exam expiration all depends on your age, and the exam doesn’t necessarily expire but the privileges the original exam gets you that expire as your medical will revert to a lower class depending on age. Good luck on your journey my friend.

Hey! Question here from a non American citizen looking to start pilot training. I beginning to see there’s just a lot of complications around flying as a non citizen and I understand that. I’m looking to get my ppl at a part time flight school while finishing up high school. After that, moving to college for a degree in aviation. My question is, would it be hard for me, a foreigner to become a commercial or corporate pilot working in the US? Like how hard would it be to get a visa sponsor from an airline or company after I finish my ppl and graduate from college with all my hours and certificates? I just really wanna know if it will at least be POSSIBLE for a foreigner to become a pilot in the US and make a career out of it. Thanks a lot for your help😃 Love the content!

Hey Sam. Thank you for watching and thank you for the kind words. In an effort to not steer you in the wrong direction, I’m going to be honest and tell you I am simply unsure the process of getting a visa sponsorship from an airline to work in the United States. I would imagine if you were to get a permanent residence in the United States the path to the airlines would be pretty straight forward. You may consider consulting some career pilot Facebook groups for more insight into this subject. Apologies for not having the answer to your question friend but thank you again for watching and taking the time to comment. Have a blessed day!
