What a class! Manners, the way she dressed, nothing screaming, no stupid nails, no nonsense crazy face lifting, even it is there...Simple and brilliant! A real Star, period.

I always loved watching Robert Osborne on TCM. You can tell he had a real love for old Hollywood and this made his interviews more enjoyable.

Kay Thompson worked with Judy to help shape her reinvention as a concert artist. The gestures, the song stylings, the reaching gesture, the hand in her hair etc. etc. The mature singer was NOT the MGM singer anymore but a lone figure on the stages of the world.

She is sooooo amazing! So gracious and real. She has worked so hard to make her own way and has fought harder than even her Parents did to be a Star in her own right. Broadway didn’t have a lot of PR or Stylists or image makers like the Hollywood studio system did when her parents worked for MGM. You had to have IT or you didn’t make it in NYC. And she did it from the bottom up. All stage performers no matter their background, gender, level of talent or parentage must learn how to work the entire house. Wardrobe collection, costume sewing, ticket pressing and sales, set creation and direction, painting and moving sets. The list is endless. But everyone comes up that way if they stick with it. Liza is a star because she learned at a young age exactly what is expected of a performer. And because she has the stage in her DNA. She’s a favorite of mine! ❤❤❤

That is what I always wondered about Liza - does she miss all those people she knew from her parents' world (I would think there is a lot to miss) and, of course, her parents and she clearly said here, she does - she carries that with her.

The choreography for Judy & Mickey films like "Strike Up the Band" was done by Busby Berkeley. It was Buzz who devised the fruit orchestra.

Yes. Buzz directed it and he set up the band for stop time animation. But Vincente proposed the idea to LB Mayer and Buzz.

I think Liza ay remember In the good old Summertime, she was 2/1/2. the other films her mother did at MGM, The Pirate was 1947,so she was only 1 yr. old. She was 4,when her mother left in 1950,and divorced her father. Yet, her father continued directing.

Super-Talent! She had everything - the acting, the dancing, the singing. But like many celebrities, she went down the drugs and alcohol path. She could’ve accomplished so much more with her extraordinary gifts.
