Wipe the tip after you close it onto some paper towel. Problem solved! I wipe the tip into my wet pallette and add some water to use it as a glaze. Jason of Monument Hobbies has gone into detail on how these lids save you paint in the long run, with far less evaporation than other lids.

I am still a beginner painter, but it is somewhat reassuring to see that I am not the only one who struggles with how to layer a cloak! 😆 I try so hard to build in contrast with layering/glazing, but then I am so disappointed that it looks like a striped cloak. It's hard for me to get those transitions to smooth out. I'll also keep practicing on that! Thanks for the video review of Pro Acryl! I have a couple of their paints and really like the Bold Pyrrole Red. When restarted painting a few years back I got some Vallejo and Army Painter to replace my ancient Citadel paints. Since then I've watched loads of different amazing painters on KZitem and have been inspired to try different artist paints. At the minute my favourite in the airbrush are Golden Hi Flow, super pigmented and vibrant. For bristle brush I've been enjoying Liquitex Acrylic Goache. Perhaps not the paints for painting space marines, but brilliant for building texture.

If we're talking overall, it must be Pro Acryl. That kind of coverage with such thin and easily used paints is simply amazing. Well, from the colours that i've tried atleast. Really dislike the thin consistency for drybrushing though. :'( For metal though, it must be VMC. It's just a shame there aren't more colours (downside to using aluminium pigments i guess). That said. I'm not bound by any 1 brand and I'll use whatever I feel is the best for this/that. Be it Tamiya, GW, AK, Kimera or whatnot. Pro acryl now do actual washes as well as "glaze and wash medium" which, when used with a small touch of water, basically turns any paint in to a contrast-like paint. I've actually stopped using oil washes as this stuff is sooooo good. No smell and dries in minutes instead of hours with oils. Or without water it goes on like a filter through an airbrush but with the accuracy of the brush, so you can over-brighten with your dry brushing and then filter and smooth with the glaze. Its basically liquid magic.

For me it was when I was taught how to panel line with oil paints + thinner. Had spent ages on a camouflage scheme on my Tau tank and then watching the oil flow into the lines (and being able to clean any mistakes with just thinner!) was amazing. Outside of that, in general it would be vallejo. They were my first dropper bottle paints after citadel and it made it so much easier to do things like measure out mixes (2 drops red, 1 drop blue etc) for making custom colours for my army that I could actually replicate.

My favorite range so far has been GW, but it's all I've really used so far. Still pretty new to the hobby.

Never tried pro acryl, everytime I think to order some, they are out of stock. My favorite paints that I always use is oils. Since I started oil washing, I haven’t went to anything else for washes, and filters.

I absolutley love fauxhammer and this review has been so entertaining and informative! I ordered some pro acryl paints (white, and the 3 primary colours), and I cant wait to test them out!

Painting with whichever range has the colour I need in it. Still a beginner and it's my skill that is the limiting factor most of the time, not the paint.

You’d be surprised how much different styles of paint suit different painters. I’d argue that if you started with these you’d struggle more with other brands because this does so much for you that the other brands don’t

@@FauxHammer I'm mostly on Citadel paints with others as recommended by the local shop. I'm trusting their judgment at the moment and it seems to be working out well.

No paints have wowed me so far, though that may be due to my lack of skill. I have only just started to try moving away from citadel.

I think you need experience with OK ranges to appreciate how good the great ranges are. Nothing wrong with Citafel, I use them all the time. But these are, as I said, the paints that citadel Base range wish they were.

Titanium White was my jump on point for Pro Acryl, it is just so good. Try it you will not be disappointed!!

I feel I really need to branch out with my paints. Stuck with Citadel mainly due to conquest magazine but always hearing so much about all these other paint ranges and how comparable they are.l if not better.

Hi ! What a good work , I like the blue color you use and the work you do on the sword, well done ! Oh, I use only citadel colour for now because I'm use too for paint my necron, ultramarines and figurines from Descent and Star wars Imperial Assault board game. I like how the citadel stade works and the texture they have :)

Honestly, for me it is either between pro acryl or AK 3rd gen. Pro Acryl because they have what Scale 75 had but are easier to use and AK for me works so quick and easy and for me are more consistent than Vallejo.

Really interesting and will def try out the pro acryl range. Currently I have a large selection of citadel and a few Vallejo that I use regularly
