It’s a lot easier to space attacks when you expect them to happen, the most telling sign is based on you and your opponent positioning, stingray was able to avoid all those sideairs/ air attacks because of this and also because his opponents were repeatedly moving 1 dimensionally, most plat scythe players like to jump in the air and dair, if I saw a scythe player jump in the air I’d keep in mind they will most likely go for a dair, now just move out the way when they start approaching you

I FELT SO CALLED OUT ABOUT ME NOT FEARING NO ONE AS A SOMWAHT HIGH PLAT xD But you doing that immediately made me subscribe. I wish I had also met you at BCX. I appreciate this video because you called out what is common mindsets which just changed my perspective. I have been watching all sorts of content on how to get better because platinum has gotten easy to reach, BUT diamond is much harder because I am often gimped or thrown off by string people or thrown off of my mental by playing into their hands, but your spacing and positioning and even simple movement made it look really easy. I watch creative playstyles like Pavelski and try to emulate that even though I don't have enough fundamentals down regardless of that. I try to skip steps and play like pros and time my attacks wayyy too early. Sorry for longwindedness, but you just made me excited because I am genuinely learning again!

Something ive noticed and a friend of mine kept recommending is to improve my movement. Sure knowing how to pull off strings is good, but weapons like hammer, greatsword (im a magyar main) katars, bow and blasters require good positioning before you can even start attacking, so by improving your movement it'll begin to feel natural when to use an attack and which attack to use.

I think what's happening here is that you really understand the spacing of attacks, and you know which ones have enough lag on miss to punish. Most lower players will stand too far away from the enemy to punish when they miss or too close and get hit. Also, you know how to properly dodge offensively when reacting to specific attack so that you are in the perfect place to punish. Most players aren't even thinking of their weapon match up and where they should be standing/dodging.
