This is great advise!! I have been working on shallowing my swing but was totally struggling with keeping the club inside and was coming over the top. I watched this video and this is so simple I was able to shallow my swing the first time at the range and I have been working on it for months (I take that back it's been years). I just wanted to find a simple easy to repeat swing, and with this move I think I found it!! I didn't want to comment until I played a round and last night I did and as I said this made my game a lot less complicated, only missed one fairway all night. I only play 9 a week but I go to the range twice working on my game. This is my game changer!! THANKS!!

This is a great way to set it. 6’3 280 lbs and my right arm takes over every time. Most fat shots for me. Hip bump not doing that. Just struggling. You’re making a lot of sense. I’ve been (hard to describe) setting my down swing w/ my back swing. Setting my left side at the ball going back then, not passing it going down so I’m never left of the ball. In a way it makes me have a similar action but didn’t realize it. So I’m seeing now why I’ve really felt the aim at times but then not. Ball flight varies from straight to push small fade. I see why. If I let it pass it’s straight, if I go a bit farther, push fade. Great video buddy.

If your in a hurry , guaranteed the hips will stall and swing is everything you don't want. Shift is lateral / Diagonally that is how we are made. The further you want to hit it , the faster your shift and throw. You are one of the first ones that gets it . Mike Austin had the gift of swing . Best of the Best . Be Blessed

If I could decipher Lee it would probably be the same but listening to him is like listening to a kid try to tell you what flavor ice cream he got, but ends up telling you everything but in the process. You may end up knowing the flavor, but it took 40 minutes to get to it. The pelvis to 10 o'clock brings me back. Just a tiny bump. I rarely teach below the waist because your body automatically knows what to do with it, auto-pilot balancing mechanism. It really brings unnecessary confusion into play. i myself have a bad back. One thing I do advocate is that no matter what method if there is pain discontinue immediately. Although my program is meant to be pain free there are differences in everyone. I am here to help when I can. Everything on here works for some if not most. You have to mix and match to come up with your own unique system just like the grip you mentioned. These are proven techniques that are pain free and provide enough power to get around the course. I am 6 and play 6800-7580 yard courses here to an index 6. back home on the 5800 yard courses I would be much lower.

It’s because it tucks the right elbow in. Critical. Palm up automatically puts the right elbow to your side. Typically makes you hit in to out path as well and better ball striking. More compression, more clubhead speed, less loft into the ball with hands forward. More distance with increased spin. Win win.

Personally I feel that whilst you can learn a particular technique and through diligent practice groove that technique and be semi-consistent, most amateur golfers do not have the time or patience to do this. Compounding this issue is that no-one in golf teaches how to improve hand-eye coordination which is truly where the rubber hits the road so to speak. Try this exercise. Get a blank piece of paper, draw a capital letter O in your normal handwriting in the middle of the paper. Put the paper on top of something solid like a book. Holding the pen and using a dart like action, try and make a mark within the small circle, start slow then increase the speed. You will notice this is quite hard and increasingly so as you speed up the arm action. Now imagine the increase in distance, speed and requirement to coordinate the various parts of the body during a full golf swing and you get an idea of how difficult it is. I repeat nobody teaches eye hand coordination, is it innate or can we learn it? To me, this is the secret to golf.
@jamesmobbsymethodgolf2916
4 жыл бұрын
you can teach yourself to be more coordinated for sure. There was a guy on be better golf that taught just that. how it holds up at 100 mph, I have not the answer. the greatest flaw in an amateurs logic is to believe they can compete with a pro. The pro cannot do their job with the amount of time amateurs put into this game. likewise the pro could not do most amateurs jobs with the amount of time those amateurs put into their game. It is their job. It is our hobby. Massive difference, talent may get you only so far. the rest are skills that take time to learn and even longer to master.

I don’t really agree with this. You’re pretty much saying it is impossible to move the lower body independently of the upper body. It definitely is possible to create separation between the lower and upper body. It is what all the tour pros do. If you are not mobile or flexible enough to swing that way, that is a whole different story. But just because you can’t do it, doesn’t mean it is BS. I’d recommend looking at the findings from all the top biomechanics. Dr. Rob Neil, Dr. Kwon, Athletic Motion Golf to name a few.
@razor7241
Ай бұрын
He keeps saying “it’s AUTOMATIC”. Well, for most golfers that is NOT true because most golfers (especially poorer golfers) have way too much tension in their swing. Keep your palm pointing facing toward the ball on the downswing like he advocates, and you will hit the ball 50 yds into the trees right. If you do release the club, you are VERY dependent on timing this incredible rate of face rotation. Go to any PGA event and watch the best players in the world and see if ANY of them follow this advice. NONE of them do that. In fact, they are trying to square the face early in their downswing so that they don’t have to rely on perfect timing, which they know is very hard to do. Follow this advice and good luck to you!

This is the truth!!! I have been doing a rotation style swing where I had to manually time the face rotation. I could do decent with it...high 70s driver about 265-280 9iron 145 etc. Timing was hard and had a push miss. I was watching Fred Couples hit balls and figure out he was flinging his right hand under. I had already been working on a reverse roll release(feeling the bottom of the grip with my left hand). First ball with driver CARRIED 290! 5 iron was carrying 215. If you do what he says you won't believe it! Everything is 100% automatic like he says. You can still hit fades or draws its just in the timing at impact. It is so simple it's crazy. If you understand this and swing plane=golf swing solved.

At the top of the downswing a full bodied Karate Chop starts with the trail elbow leading the trail hand as Tom described . I do it every time now; don't think of my hips or anything at all. At age 72 It's now all automatic for me. As I spiral the club head with a Karate chop directly at and through the ball I am also keeping my lead eye on the ball allowing my head to raise with the momentum of my club to the finish of my swing. Hundreds of swing thoughts and doubts are now out of my head forever.
