Enjoyed the long format version of this. Thanks for taking the time out of your Sunday afternoon to do this. It was a great experience and I’ll be back.

Man that was something! When I was a kid on the Farm, (1950's & 1960's) a local scrap year had 3 boys work all day with acauline torches cutting apart burnt up equipment. They had 1 gallon of Iced tea, the owner's wife made for them to share. They were 12, 13, and 15 years old, and all drove to town, whenever they needed more gas or O2. There was no delivery service, just a feed store with huge tanks out the back. Mom often said, If one of those tanks goes, they'll never find a piece of our town. lol! When did they first start making those cutting machine? I've never seen them before.

I work for a large cement company and recently they did a shit pile of work on the plant and the bin's. A company brought in a sheer life that one and I was just fascinated watching it cut. Like large I beams like it was a hot knife thru butter. The machine didn't even rev up and was thru. I just can't imagine someone getting caught up in one and I'm sure that there are larger ones out there. But ya I couldn't get enough just watching it rip down a cement plant in half a day. I guess it's a guy thing it makes you feel so strong errr I can do anything. K so now I should probably watch the video I just had to throw a comment up. This channel has got to be one of the best ones out there. The young fella knows what he is doing and definitely has people skills which you definitely need to be a successful business owner. You got this Mr 👍 🇨🇦🔧

A shear that large should be able to handle anything on that bailer. Sounds like you have a hydraulic issue; low pressure from worn pumps or valves. Would also explain the slow cycle time.

If it seemed painfully slow on the cycle and a little lacking on power the cylinder very likely could be bypassing. I just had to rebuild a cylinder on my 1500r labounty for that reason

It looked to me you handled the shear pretty good.We have 3 shears on 400 komatsus .They don’t rotate like yours. That is definitely a great option.

Maybe something in the hydraulic system needs work. Maybe a cylinder, a pump or if I'm correct there may be a hydraulic accumulator above that rotator that could be bypassing. I've seen that happen. Damn I miss sheering. My favorite one I ran was a CAT 345 with Labonte MSD70 head, no rotator. She had insane power. But also ran a JD 850 with a Labonte with rotator and it was seriously impressive. Torque on the bolts for those knives were 1600 ft lbs. For the short time I ran a genesis shear, I liked it alot. But do more videos like this. No longer in the scrap but I miss it.

What you talking about Willis looks to me you know what you are doing. I can't believe how much there is to those machines like a Swiss watch kinda thing. This is probably a stupid question but does the price change if whatever it is was burnt? After all they just melt them down anyway. That's a great idea to make more videos like this. I would be all over it like a fat kid on a box of smatees. Dam I'm in trouble with the trools now. I probably offended a shit pile of people. Oh well shit happens 😂👍🇨🇦🔧

When you mentioned a '400' versus the '1000' what were you referring to? A model number? Size of cutting head? Nevertheless, it certainly looks like you made progress. Hopefully by now (Sat Aug 10), you've shown it who's boss and cut it up in to those itsy-bitsy pieces the steel mill wants.
