Spent a lot of overtime and odd hours working on stuff over the years. Never ran a verticle lathe. That one looks like a big machine. I hate interrupted cuts. Rough on inserts and causes parts to loosen up and move around. Good work...

I have cnc classes at school now, and it's really cool to suddenly recognise a lot of the codes you entered. Great work as always

Thanks for sharing the video with us. That's quite a large, complex piece and that interrupter cut was certainly a challenge for the insert. Glad you got it done on time.

That insert takes quite a hammering when in the bolt circle. 🤨

That is an interesting way to center the part.

Can I ask, with the first part why the top 70mm wasn't just removed with a parting off tool? I'm no engineering expert, just curious.

It depends on the situation. Horizontal lathe are fine. However, the vertical lathe should be very careful when cutting. As soon as the cutting was finished, the cutout could collide with the tool or machine, so it was not cut as much as possible.

If you're an employee, no. If you're the shop owner, yes.
