I agree, I am from the UK and Luke's album entered the album charts at number 51 and dropped out altogether the following week, I pre ordered this CD and can't count how many times I have played it since, I am 65 years old and have never felt the way about a debut album like this before, I have hundreds of albums and this goes straight to the top, In the UK we get such rubbish going straight in at number one and then straight out again, singers like Jane McDonald(pub singer in my view) I suppose we can't stop people streaming popular artists that are pushed down our throats by radio stations, sorry about this rant, but like you I feel people are missing out by not hearing this beautiful album

This is the best debut album I have ever bought, Luke's own description was Ethereal, and that is what I heard running right through the album. I feel so VALIDATED because I'm not a musician or songwriter, maybe I should've been in another life, but my love for music like this just makes my heart ache, really, and people tell me I'm over-obsessed with music or tease me for the bands I love. To hear you say this should be album of the year but most people will never even hear any of these songs is...soul-crushing but true. I just feel really seen. And I appreciate this so much, Blake. Thank you for making this channel a space where those of us who live for music that speaks to them can listen to great music together.

I don't care if people hate this comparison, I see similarities with Harry Styles Fine Line and I'm actually loving it. WFTWTAF is like Fine Line's moody teen cousin. Same visuals through the lyrics, same beautiful musicality, a bit of psychodelic sound also makes it sound remotely similar. But if Fine Line is full of happy dancy songs with sad undertones, WFTWTAF is full of in-your-face sad bops with hearthbreaking undertones. It's so beautiful but so sad at times. Doesn't make me want to listen to it less though :)

@@bobbyb2749 lol no. They use different writing styles that's it. The similarities I referred to concern only the production. Harry writes mostly in stream of consciousness style, it's not suppose to impress you with the storytelling, it's about creating associative visual streamline and he's the best one at it. But it requires a bit of abstractive thinking skills and people not always in the mood for that when they listen to music so I understand the accusation. He just doesn't play it safe, he writes how he feels not trying to appeal to certain group of listeners.

I saw you were a bit overwhelmed, I know the feeling. But believe me there will be people listening to Birds of Paradise feeling the same thing. There is no competition in music, at least I believe so. I personally don't care about charts and awards the artist has., I know it's money but if you're about getting the message accross - the accolades don't matter. The best bands in history made total shit during their first few records, it's okay to be overthinking everything and okay not to be happy about the sound.
