Thanks for this tutorial. Just a little advice for future videos, can you focus manually and use a little more light?

Skyler, as an "outdoor" photographer just starting to dabble in still lifes, I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon your video site. I have learned a lot already. Two ideas to make your videos even more useful: (1) Many photographer's videos include a link to what can be generically called, "What's in my bag?", where the list most every piece of gear they use. Although you list a small number of items with each video, it would be extremely helpful if you would create a "What's in my studio" link. Would love to know the details of all your gear, e.g., light and backdrop stands, laptop stand, all the reflectors/diffusers, etc. That link would only have to be updated if you added a new piece of gear. (2) More detail on the camera setup itself: what lens you're shooting, what f-stop, how do you determine exposure (flash meter, TTL, trial and error?). Love the top-level tutorials, but also would like more detail, including some of your post-processing techniques for finalizing your images.

Hi Brian. Thank you so much for your insight. I started creating and posted my Amazon store list with items I have and love. I attached it in the description of the video. Only had time to add part of the items I use but will keep updating:)

Nice one! I always wondered where this kind of wood is from when I saw it in product photographs - thought it would cost a lot more, too. But I am wondering: if you buy this online, isn't it a gamble to get one with a shape that is suitable to somehow hold a product steady?

You are right. It’s a gamble. Better to go pick one on a store. I was just too lazy

Again great lesson, great job with the lighting, it's good for the viewer to see the steps to get the right light for each part of the subject and then combining them in post to get a great result that you want.

@@skylerewingphotography I am talking about all tha light you use in videos soft light or key light 😂 it's might be because intensity or something but it's on or off i can't identify

@@ItsMokid330 it’s because I am using flash at low power so it’s very fast flash speed. Also the room is feel of video lights and it’s very bright for filming so the flash light it’s not very obvious. If I would turn off all video lights then you would see a burst of light from flashes
