The WWII example is not very good and is in fact misleading. Unemployment did not fall from 25.2% in 1934 to 1.2% in 1944 and production was not booming. What happened was the drafting of more than 10% of the work force into the military to fight abroad and the diversion of resources from consumer goods, which were in demand by the public into war goods, which were in demand by government. The period was one of constant shortages, rationing, and black market activity, not outright prosperity. A better example would be to pick a period in which the markets were permitted to do their jobs without intervention from the central planners. A good example would be the early 1920s, when the government let the depression end by getting out of the way and letting the markets liquidate malinvestments. Real GDP had collapsed after the end of World War I and unemployment soared to just under 20%. Harding cut the budget and cut taxes and let the market do its job. After a short but deep contraction the redistribution of assets from the hands of bankrupt companies to new acquirers who could deploy them more efficiently created a massive boom that brought unemployment to record lows. And all that without having to send people to die abroad or to throw away scarce resources in a war.

+Vangel Vesovski I don't think being politically correct and true to history really has an impact on the video. Even if the example was made up completely, as long as they give a reason for a decrease or increase along the PPC, I think they've accomplished what they set out to do.
