I never had a idol and role model. My life was scattered. When I came across your channel , my life was really changed not because I started studying but because my perspective changed. Your how I study video really meant a lot to me. For me what's inspiring is not that you can study for 12 hours but the focus and drive. I really can't write what I feel I am feeling emotional while writing this. Your goal of helping people is really accomplished . Thank you dude thank you. Edit - i got 94.4% in my boards, thanks to james again.

J is THE EXAMPLE of what focused and personal drive does. NOT hustle culture or "grinding" which just burns people out because it is moreso for external rewards. What James does is not easy yet he gets out of bed and pushes to be better every day. Damn, I'm right there with you J. Life is hard but we can do hard things. Thank you for reminding me. Location, money, clothes, nothing has to stand in your way of being 1% better than you were yesterday. This is about you, for you. Thanks, Jay! Means a lot.

I've been watching you for a long time, I always thought my life wasn't perfect enough to study like you. Now I see that you live a very normal life and I don't need, luck, money, a minimalistic room and apartment right next to the university to study well. On top of that, you have exactly the same subjects in the university and you're even my age which made me think even more that I should just study and not waste my time.

God damn, between this video and your 12 hours a day studying video, feel like I gotta reexamine my life. I am 27 so a bit older than you are now probably. Never went to uni and barely scratched my way out of graduating high school early. But I work at a library now and am in an environment where I see how important the prospects of learning are. I've unfortunately kinda fried my brain the last several years through marijuana usage, consuming content constantly, and playing video games almost daily when I'm not at work instead of bettering myself. I've always felt a fire down under telling me this isn't right, even though I tend to enjoy the medium of video games a lot, but what I lack is some serious balance in my life. Seeing your videos just cemented that. I have lots of passions I could see myself gunning towards but ever since I've been released into the real world working 40 hours a week, finding the time to grow and learn while also "unwinding" from work all week feels damn near impossible. But I can't believe it is, because then my existence would be futile. So here I am saying that I need to reevaluate as I age further. I don't want to look back at my twenties and say that was the best time of my life, because they've been rather depressing if I look at how I would have ideally spent my time then. I feel I must take your videos and begin to apply them to something I have an intense passion for. I don't know where to start, perhaps with building healthy daily habits as you've discussed before. I might finally read Atomic Habits, I've always been resistant to self help stuff because it feels tailored to make people into machines in a capitalist society. But if I could just apply it to match with my inner principles of life, as well as towards something I truly believe in, then maybe my outlook on my day to day existence will change. Anyways, thank you. Your videos shook me up hard this morning, and I feel I've been overdue for a serious second look at how I'm living my adult life. To learn that from a seemingly chill young dude like yourself is a blessing. I am especially touched by the studying for 12 hours a day where you begin to tear up talking about being a better person, and living in the moment, being truly present. Also being raised by a single mother whom you want to give the world to, I relate to heavily. You have a good soul. Changing one's mindset is rather difficult, but being fully aware most of the time of one's thoughts and temptations is important to changing and growing. Also to remember, I am not you, nor are you me, I cannot compare my life to your 1:1, we all come from different biases and backgrounds. My journey will not mirror yours, but I can only hope to extract whatever valuable teachings other humans have to lift myself up, and in turn lift others up. Standing on the shoulders of giants so to speak. Be well Jay! And don't let the real world break you down like I've let it over the years once you've moved on from uni and your studies in the way they are now, life is a learning journey that only ends when we pass, and we must stay vigilant in reminding ourselves of this.
@Man1anlol

Dude I 100% relate to this. And coincidentally also 27, almost 28. No role model as a kid. Dad always occupied with his own thing and I had trust issues with my mom. I swapped multiple elementary schools as a kid and even had to re-do third grade, high school I barely completed and when I started college I was directionless on what to choose. Finished that after 5.5 years (failed 1 year and got half a year extra for my graduation year because of anxiety and insecurity about succeeding my graduation project) Started smoking weed at 19 and experimenting with other substances in my early twenties. When I finished college I still had no sense of direction and just picked a job close to my house so I'd had to travel less and be on time. As being late was generally an issue. Couldn't keep a job for more than a year, my contracts did not get extended for 2 jobs and it crumbled my selfesteem. I ended up unemployed for 2 years and eventually started picking up again with therapy to treat underlying issues and reintegrating slowly. I'm doing much better lately doing volunteer work twice a week in a woodworking workshop where I can also just hobby around and be in my own space and at a bar on some saturdays to work and challenge my anxiety. Gaming and other dopamine seeking behaviour have taken a lot of free time off my hands when I look back at my life and it still does to this day allbeit to a more dosed extent. Rn i'm trying to read more and do mixing and music production. I feel far behind others most of the time and as if it's impossible to 'catch up' but i'm taking it 1 step at a time. Wish you the best brother and you're not alone in this. Peace

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. It's never too late to reevaluate our lives and make changes that will bring us closer to our goals and passions. Building healthy daily habits and finding something that you truly believe in can help provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Remember that everyone's journey is different and it's important to focus on our own growth and progress rather than comparing ourselves to others.

The impact one person has on the mentality and lifestyle of thousands of people is inconceivable. You have advanced the way of thinking of more people than I can count, James. I became a digital minimalist at the very young age of 15, my perspective changed from motivation to drive. I have been able to focus since I removed the technology that consumes the brain and energy from life. My classes are going well. This happened with the Cal Newport book you suggested. It was certain that I would have a rough time incorporating them into my life without your support, much advice. Although we are not related by blood, you have modified the course of my life. Forever grateful to you. I hope you get your mom that big house and you'll be a great dad to your kids. You've already helped people. Thank you Jay, thank you for everything. Your videos accidentally came to me while I got mentally breakdown, EVERYTHING in my life had just been messed up and I really got no idea about how to escape from it. At that time, your videos really gave me the motivation to grind day by day and back to my pre version, you just chillin with everything and somehow you still get better and better. I really appreciate for that! Wish you all luck. Peace!

ok ok, this is def a NEW ERA ! and it is productive af. *But as an architect I'd like to say few words about your place James;* I loved how your place is not one of those *"white washed always tidy productivity booster perfect nyc apartments"* with *"made beds, aesthetic appliances, pretty plants, popular furnitures"* etc. This is a _home,_ it is messy or dusty here and there. Walls and floors are covered with stuff which represents *_your_** interests* and *sense of aesthetic.* Some furnitures have *stories* - like your *desk being made of skateboards* or your *bed with white powder* - to prevent bedbugs - which you got after months of sleeping in the closet -. Your *earthy green walls* - which I guess you like a lot - cuz you had the same paint in your previous apartment and you've painted here the same color. And all other things I haven't noticed or remembered.. These are James, it's all "you". This place has a personality, this is not a showroom created for KZitem views. Yes it is *definetly aesthetic* but it is not mainstream, it bears your signature. Those "mainstream" homes are pretty too, but this is more genuine. I think this is one of the reasons why people love you cuz you are genuine, relatable, kind. You are not a "pushy hustler," you are humble and you're genuinely trying to help people. And yes I've said your environment seems a bit messy but you have a *working system* in it. You are productive af *because the tidiness, the system, the calmness, the composure is **_in your head_* and you run it pretty well. Idk if you'd read this or agree with this but I wanted to present my opinion. This turned out to be a lot more than few words lol. Sorry for the long text. Take care James and everyone !
