What was your camera setup? Was the camera on your head? I really like that you took the time and effort to film it this way. Keep up the good work.

Thanks!! I had bought something on Amazon that straps around my forehead and my phone snaps into it. It's uncomfortable because my phone is huge but definitely works! I plan to get a go pro when I can afford it 👍🏻

Nice work! My one suggestion, as a professional house painter, would be to make your cut lines a little thinner. It's taking you extra time to make them so thick and the roller can get pretty close anyway. I used to do this and my father made me aware I was doing it when I was learning the trade from him. XD

I totally agree I'd save so much time with that! I used to cut in thinner, but when I was working with my first paint crew I had guys tell me to make the lines thicker for them to roll- so I have ever since. I'll have to try putting it on thinner again, especially when I'm the one rolling the walls. :)

So glad to see you doing vidoes again. I'm always so impressed with your cutting especially the way you did those skirting boards at that angle.

My go do favorite is purdy 3.5 straight brush have you ever use them?

Yes I've tried a bunch of Purdy brushes, I like straight brushes but Purdy is not my go-to since the ones I've tried seem to get super soft after a while and I really prefer stiff brushes

Good morning. I have a little problem cutting in a perfect straight line on the inside wall that have two different colors.one employee told me that no one is perfect.But I disagree that. Another employee said tape it. well How do the professional’s like you cut in. Most walls have the same color, that’s no problem there, overall, my work is good. Prepping the job site takes some time. Can I have your professional advice.

Good morning, if you're having trouble getting a straight line for any reason, i recommend using the 2" yellow frog tape to make the straight line, caulk the tape, then brush vertically along the tape/caulk. Then pull the tape before the paint dries, and repeat for second coat. If the wall has a sheen, you'll have to paint the whole wall- if it's flat, you should be able to just touch up that area

@@thatpainterchick I will order 2” yellow frog tape. That’s what the professional’s used at the schools. Thanks miss.

Is there a reason you didn’t round the corners when applying paint like you did in some of your other videos? It’s a neat trick that’s like your signature move.
@thatpainterchick

I didn't even notice I did something different! I'm not sure exactly what you're referencing, but It's possible it's because of how dry the walls were. I think that's the only difference between these walls and the usual ones!

Ok. So basically when you apply paint to any corner, you start with an L shape (the corner of the L is rounded). I’ll check one of your other vids and reference that.

Basically when you apply paint to any corner, you make a boomerang shape. It’s an interesting method that works well.

I see what you mean, I never realized I did that! I think I took another method because of the extra dryness- just not on purpose 😅

I’m definitely going to to try it on my next painting project. I usually come down to the corner and make a 90 degree angle. It’s always great to learn better ways of doing things.
