That was my grandfather as the farmer in that scene. He was a property master for Warner Bros till he retired in 1971. Had some great stories about that movie and worked with some of the all time greats. James Dean, John Wayne, Natalie Wood, Humphrey Bogart etc.

@@carlesamigo4731 Not that scene itself. Told me that part was filmed in Lexington Kentucky. There is another scene where they try to break the land speed record in that rocket type ship on the train tracks and end up getting airborne and crashing into the barn again. He said when they fired up the rocket that the extras watching weren’t aware of how loud it was gonna be and when you see them jump and run off, that was legit! Scared the crap out of em.

@@carlesamigo4731 My grandfather told me it was a very fun shoot with all the travel to the different places. He said aside from Keenan Wynn being a jerk, the whole cast was very nice to work with. He played a lot of cards with Jack Lemmon and Peter Falk. He also was up in the air bicycle when the shots were from far away in the back seat. Just him and the stunt man. The Hannibal 8 car is on display at the Petersen Automotive museum in Los Angeles if you live in the area. Was pretty cool to see that in person.

For me Professor Fate was allways the true hero of that Film, because Fate is everything you can love on a villian, while Great Leslie is all what you can hate on a hero. I think everybody who saw the movie, could understand why Fate hated Leslie and would agree with his statement at the end of the movie.

For "Professor Fate" (Jack Lemmon) to call his helper "idiot" during this clip shows that he was the type of person that denigrated others when they did not quickly do as he said. So many today are just like "Professor Fate", being arrogant, demanding others cower to their wishes, putting themselves on a pedestal rather than being humble. Today, we see what is described at Proverbs 30:13: "There is a generation whose eyes are so haughty and whose eyes look so arrogantly !" These ones stand in contrast to what is stated at Proverbs 22: "The one who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious will have the king as his friend."(Prov 22:11) The "king" here at Proverbs 22, is God, whose personal name is Jehovah. So, all "who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious", who are truly humble will have Jehovah God as their friend, that opens the opportunity for living forever on a paradise earth "in the abundance of peace......forever."(Ps 37:11, 29; Note: see the contrast of a haughty Pharisee who derided everyone else and a humble tax collector at Luke 18:9-14)

@timhaley3459

@@theBaron0530 Can a movie be enjoyed when people are denigrating others and calling them names ? Should not a person be incensed when this happens, that is if they love goodness ? The world is littered with such disparaging behavior, calling others "stupid", "a---hole", "moron" or "imbecile", when others do not do as they wish, putting themselves on a pedestal and looking down on everyone else. For example, in the Bible at John 7, the haughty Jewish Pharisees looked down on everyone who was not "on their level", calling the common people by a contemptuous term of le‛am-ha·’a´rets (Hebrew meaning "the people of the land"), saying of them concerning listening to Jesus: "Not one of the rulers or of the Pharisees has put faith in him, has he ? But this crowd (or common people) who do not know the Law are accursed people."(John 7:48, 49) Of goodness, Jesus said that what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, saying to the arrogant Pharisees: "Offspring of vipers, how can you speak good things when you are wicked ? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man out of his good treasure sends out good things, whereas the wicked man out of his wicked treasure sends out wicked things. I tell you that men will render an account on Judgment Day for every unprofitable saying that they speak; for by your words you will be declared righteous, and by your words you will be condemned.”(Matt 12:34-37) Hence, what we say to others, or even if it is just in our heart, will determine how we are judged by God. At Ecclesiastes 5, it says: "Do not allow your mouth to cause you to sin, and do not say before the angel that it was a mistake. Why make the true God indignant over what you say so that he has to destroy the work of your hands ?"(Ecc 5:6; Note: God's personal name is Jehovah, Ps 83:18; Isa 26:4) So, we are to imitate Jesus as "the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith" (Heb 12:2), who set the perfect example of showing love for the common people, not calling them names or denigrating them as one particular politician continues to do, for Matthew 12 says of Jesus: "Look ! My servant whom I chose, my beloved, whom I have approved ! I will put my spirit upon him, and what justice is he will make clear to the nations. He will not quarrel nor cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the main streets. NO bruised reed will he crush, and NO smoldering wick will he extinguish, until he brings justice with success. Indeed, in his name nations will hope.”(Matt 12:18-21) So, a good person does NOT call others by derogatory names or terms, but rather seeks to offer them a solid hope for the future, as seen at Psalms 37: "Keep silent before Jehovah and wait expectantly for him. Do not be upset by the man who succeeds in carrying out his schemes. Let go of anger and abandon rage; Do not become upset and turn to doing evil. For evil men will be done away with, but those hoping in Jehovah will possess the earth......the meek will possess the earth, and they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace......forever."(Ps 37:7-9, 11, 29) It is then that I will be able to truly laugh and enjoy life, for nothing unclean in speech or conduct will be around.
