Yes and poverty is greater and more neighborhoods are turning into barrios but the good real estate is pricing the poor out middle class bye bye .

The plan was to build a new Chargers Stadium nearby and turn Logan into Gaslamp 2. Obviously didn’t happen.

Watching this in 2021. So many changes to the area since then. There needs to be a follow-up comparison video.

There will be and it will air November 8th on newscasts and posted here on KZitem. Neda Iranpour is doing a new story. We're doing it with all the communities that were profiled in 1986/87. It's going to be a blast from the past!

I spent most of my teenage and young adult years in Golden Hill and Sherman Heights, then moved downtown before leaving CA. Just saw the update on GH, looking forward to the update on Ele Hache.

My siblings and I would play all around with our bikes an friends, it's not a community anymore. Its all for profit. With breweries every where no place for children to roam free and play. Too congested with cars too.

This was a beautiful segment. It would be nice to see a flash from the past done with Otay and the flood, the old railroad, the lakes and farmlands, and how sacred Otay mountain was to the first nation ancient kumeyaay indigenous people that inhabited the surrounding areas before it was known what we now call San Diego

It still leaves much to be desired--it's a starter place; when you're broke and barely into adulthood; then, you work your way out once you can afford greener pastures. Finally, you put it behind you while praying you don't regress back there.

“Their” “They” “Them”. Such distancing language, as if the ones being described are foreign, different, other, not like us. Isn’t it strange how some today would prefer being referred to like this? How it is offensive to refer to some in a dignified way? What strange times
