It's almost like you don't really find game creation fun, but find the backbone/engine stuff fun to do. Probably why you start again and again from scratch, instead of just using Godot or something. There's a reason people say to stop re-inventing the wheel when it comes to game-dev. Unless you find it fun, and don't plan on making proper games, making an engine from scratch is fine, but using something like Godot, saves you weeks and weeks of work. This video could have been about how you implemented a basic combat system, got some basic npcs, got some cool animation etc etc running. instead its another backbone/engine building video which probably took you weeks.

I can respect wanting to build a game from scratch but my dude I really think it would be best to try to crank out something playable in Unity, Godot, Bevy, Unreal, or hell even MonoGame. Why put yourself through the pain of of using an incomplete, poorly documented, untested language. For example all that time it took for you to implement sound and text rendering would have taken a couple clicks or few lines of C# in Unity. No disrespect I just worry you're going to burn yourself out again after spending weeks or months on engine code before you even start working on the game itself.

I love how much fun you have programming! I started studying programming and I hope one day to have as much fun as you and get closer to the gaming world also from the dev side, thanks for your good vibes man :D

My man, just use unity, smash something out, practice, adjust game design, then make your own stuff. Otherwise you'll be in this hell until you're 60 and still have no game
