For many people, specifically Indians, even today, school education is about memorizing study material and hurling it in exams in order to get the highest ‘marks’. This mentality is a serious impediment to students as they enter the real world after their former education. The work culture shock that today’s youth faces, during the transition period from this theory based education system to actual application based jobs - is what has brought the “Project Based Learning (PBL)” system into the limelight. As the name suggests, educators devise a scenario for
students, a project per se, where they need to solve an issue considering each and every
aspect, related to the central issue. The connections made with
various subjects to find a fitting solution makes
them innovative and widen their imagination to myriad possibilities.
