I want to copy a guy who built a huge 3d fortress wall around his boardgame which expanded it immensely. It made the board look like a real dungeon. It looked amazing! No walls on the board itself because of the problems you just mentioned but just around the board with stairs leading onto the board down from the surrounding 3D wall. It's on KZitem somewhere. Loved it. When I have the time and space I am going to copy his amazing idea. This game is fantastic and the extra things you can do to improve it are almost limitless. Absolutely love this game.

Important rule changes for HeroQuest to make it much more FUN & BALANCE: 1. Dwarf = rolls an additional dice when defending. 2. Barbarian = Barbarian may wield one additional weapon instead of a shield, then may make two separate attacks per turn. Is not slowed down by plate mail. 3. Elf + Wizard = Heroes don't lose spells after they are cast (with the exception of healing). On subsequent castings they must roll 2 D6, if the total sum of the dice roll is above their Mind Points, the spell is unsuccessful this turn. 4. At the end of each turn, roll a skull dice. On a black skull the evil wizard may add a random normal monster (not gargoyle or witch lord) at any edge of the board, on subsequent turns roll an additional skull dice.

*Pezzapoo:* (9:38) I've seen videos in which plastic components of old computers, calculators, and things, were rebuilt by building up a layer at a time using sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), and superglue, then filing / sanding down the excess. Their results looked good; I would recommend trying that for your elf's sword. You might need to embed a fine wire into the reconstruction to improve its durability.

Great job on the painting. I followed the same washes video but yours are even better than my ones. Just got everything finished, all models, (including Witch Lord expansions) and all the furniture. I also converted my game to the US rules and cards. I'd highly recommend it as it is quite superior. Rules are clarified, make more sense (such as no treasure searching in the corridors) and bigger monsters have more more than 1 body point. Equipment rules are fixed (no unexplained 'short sword' attacking diagonally), and treasure cards are reversed. Bad treasure cards go back into the deck, good cards are removed when found. Finally some boss monsters have their own set of spells.

I have the Ogre Horde and one of the things I liked about it was the very original hit point counter for the ogres. Very ingenious I thought. Depending on how the combat goes down and how many ogres are present at a given time they can be taken down randomly depending on where you are on the hit point slide. An ogre can last for many hit points but then another comes along and potentially be taken down by one hit. It put some nice randomizing in the game that I quite enjoyed. I also have Kellars Keep and the Return of the Witch Lord. I've always wanted to get my hands on the Wizards of Morcar, the Barbarian expansion and the Elf expansion. Unfortunately they now cost a fortune to get a hold of and are very rare. They cost more individually then the basic game itself in mint condition! I went to a website to get copies of them but I still would like the minis.

It's been a while but I'm pretty sure there should be three zombies and four mummies, six skeletons, 8 orcs, 3 fimir, 6 goblins, 4 chaos warriors, 1 evil wizard and 1 gargoyle in the basic game. I think you might be missing 1 zombie there. I'll have to get mine out again and check. I was lucky to get a swag of extra minis from a garbage tip. Someone threw out their copy of Heroquest so I got a whole bunch of extras. I need to paint mine again though. I painted them when I was a kid so as you can imagine the quality isn't so great.

Watched it and it looks real good, like the magnets to hold the walls in place, was thinking of idea about same with a Trench that's the walls snapped down into that would be thinner, not a full block wide, but also like the idea of doing it like the advanced heroquest will just all tiles and rooms with walls already attached or could be with magnets, sort of like the 3d Printed Dragonlock system, but all scaled and made for heroquest system

$200 reaper miniatures + $100 custom printed cards/tiles + $80 game system = fuuuuuunnnnn
@knghtbrd
3 жыл бұрын
If you have the game system, you'll spend about $35 on a card set (you basically wind up reprinting the whole set. It's not required, but it's easier that way and it only adds about $15 to the cost). You can spend less on minis, a lot less actually. And the best way to produce the missing tiles is print them on sticker paper and apply to cardstock. As with D&D or any other related hobby, it comes down to what do you want to do, and what do you want to spend? I mean, I can grab random things to use as pieces, a handful of standard six sided dice from a yahtzee game, a battle mat, and a pack of printable business cards … There, HQ on the cheap! Or I could carefully reproduce the board, buy new minis (or print STL files on a resin printer), invest a couple hundred dollars in paints and another fifty in tools, order custom cards printed, and meticulously craft my own replacements for the HQ furniture. It just comes down to what do you want to spend, really, and what do you hope to get out of it? Quality is a function of time, money, and skill. You can buy high quality originals with enough money, or produce better than that yourself with time. Skill at using either time or money well will improve what you get out for what you put in. It's like anything.
