I agree. I mean, I totally think she should've been booted off last week for that atrocious bathing suit, but come on! They stole her freaking work!

A block is a pattern right? So it's not like they borrowed her scissors.. They took her design. I'm with Helen on this.

I'm not a designer, but the general principle of theft has to be taken into consideration. Having small things stolen can be just as irksome and invasive as big things.

Helen was absolutely right about confronting Oren, and I really don't understand the "hate Helen" band wagon. she might be odd, overweight, not young, and says frock alot but she was nice helping people. The more I see the hate towards Helen the more I'm rooting for her.

ridiculous how they think its ok to steal someones pattern! thats the design backbone, so theyre stealing her design, point blank. they deserve to go home just based on that.

As irksome as Helen is, you don't steal another designer's pattern. Rude! As "helpful" as she is I'm sure she'd have let them have it anyhow.

i'm sorry. if you want to use someone else's thing, ask permission from the owner. no matter what your excuse is, not asking first is considered stealing. it might not seem big issue but this is thing we taught children. if we teach kids something we don't even do, are they going to follow our instruction or follow our action?

I have to disagree, a block is like a template, yes you can adapt a template and make it your own but it gives you an unfair over the others not starting from a template. You might not like Helen's aethetic (which is subjective) but she is correct in saying it's unfair.

Let's pretend for a moment that it isn't Helen, but another one of those "fun, funky, hip" kids? I think then people would look at this differently. They shouldn't have used her block , honestly.

It's the pattern that the designers create and use to make their garments.

I think Helen is a good designer I don't have a problem with her aethetic. Yes, Oren should have made his own but Helen was really blowing it all out of porportion, even the other designers thought so. It all comes down to what you DO with the block.

I am a designer...basic blocks are generic you can use someone else's block that they drafted and change it to make it your own. I have a whole book of basic blocks. A block is not a whole entire pattern. You can do a gazillion change to a block. A block does not have seam allowance or style details.

While I agree with Helen and the fact they used her block was unfair. I think there's a point to where your sulking isn't helping yourself. Isn't it easier to state the offense then say what you'd like in recompense rather than skulk around. Wasting time when you still have work to do. Also maybe i'm biased since I don't like Helen...
