This is for the Mac platform only?

QLab only runs on Mac. You can check out MadMapper if you need software that runs on windows.

I don't get it. How is "video mapping" different from just pointing your projector to a wall and clicking PLAY? It would be helpful to see the differences between the two. Isn't it the same thing for the most part?

So, in short, you are able to create an 'area' that you can adjust the rectangular projection area to match the points of the object you are projecting on! SKEW is the key word here. Now, take that single skewed rectangular projection and multiply that by 2,3,4, 50 skewed rectangular projection areas. Each with it's own video, image, color, effect. Keep in mind, to make this mental vision, EACH little skewed rectangular surface is like a little mini monitor/screen. There's ONE BIG work area on your computer screen to assign all these little images too. The projector is just your output of your screen. You could do the exact same thing yourself using a projector and MS PAINT! You'd be looking at your monitor, while you projector is lighting up a wall with objects on it. You could just trace a line around those object and you'd have a cool effect on the real life objects. It's an amazing, but simple concept in the making for decades. Just getting to be affordable and common place! Hope that helps.

Another helpful feature is if you are projecting onto a not rectangular screen like he talks about starting at 0:41. hope that helps!

Thank you for the video, but why there is no CROP option if i need to crop the surface?

Unfortunately it seems that QLab does not have an easy way to crop content. If you are looking to limit the size of a surface you could use masks(I have a video on that). QLab also allows you to create custom compositions which could be used to crop your content but this method is a bit cumbersome to use. Here is some info about it: qlab.app/cookbook/video-composition/
