Still so beautiful! For me the one and only Romeo and Juliette ever. They make you feel every nuance of it, and that is what makes the difference. And also Egon Madsen as Mercutio!

Wonderful ! Marcia Hardée and Richard Cragun are remarkably convincing. The dancer who plays Mercutio is also excellent. The acting is as spectacular as the entire production. Thank you for this gem.

alain Spiteri I have no idea what you’re talking about. All I asked if it was before or after Cranko’s passing as I know how much the dancers were affected by the loss. If it was after his passing, then I’m astonished by the pure commitment and strength that I see by these amazing dancers. I have a feeling that my prior statement was met by a lot of aggression. It was a very innocent question to an interesting notion

@@stephaniemyhill8539 you wrote do you remember at all , j did't not understood what that mean ? and j replied to you . Yes fan of Music-Dance j remember at all . J repeat : it's more difficult to remember the year of a movie than a musician or à dancer on stage : it's seems 1965-1970 because j saw also " sleeping-beauty movie " with Fonteyn-Noureev in same years 1965-1970 , what do you say more ? are you a fan of Music and fan of ballet ? When we like a composer , a choreographer , when we are a musician , we play a masterpiece without know year of created it ! Except if they are more : a friend or someone from his family . Did j answer you ?

She never smiles. She never makes eye contact with him. This is my favourite version of the ballet, but I will never understand why this ballerina was Cranko's muse.

Smiles and eye contact doesn't mean acting at all, it's very obvious and corny. You can make expressions or emotions even without look each other.

I don't understand why you speak of Paris. Romeo and Juliet has nothing to do with it. Drama is played in Verona. Did you read the novel by Shakespeare? Cranko's choreography corresponds exactly to the author's dramaturgy. MacMillan's version is very brilliant as a ballet but far from essential.
