What do you think of holding a strap/handle in the palm of the hand while pronating? Many people have warned me not to do it because I could "spin out my wrist" (ligament strain I guess?) but I've noticed many eastern European pullers hold the strap in their hand. (And I get no pain doing it this way either)

Hi sir. I have questions though it's off-topic. 1. How do I build a bicep lock so my arm doesn't get opened in a hook? 2. Is it helpful if I switch to pure static lifts for biceps and other arm flexor muscles instead of traditional dynamic work since in armwrestling we don't really curl our arms, rather, we remain static and use our body to pin?
@KevinPalkoArmwrestling
Жыл бұрын
My first answer was going to be static’s. So that kind of answers your second question lol. But yes statics are good for every muscle group, I always suggest you mix up your workouts to keep your body “shocked “ which will help you keep getting stronger

I tried toprolling like Travis Bagent and interestingly, it seemed like all the pronation was generated through my wrist, not thumb, what is weird considering that I was really high on the opponents hand. Maybe was because I was sliding down on their hands as I got closer to the the pin? Great video btw
@KevinPalkoArmwrestling
Жыл бұрын
If it’s a Travis style top roll, your most likely posted high with little to no cup. If your straight wristed and not cupping, then the pronation will be through the thumb

@KevinPalkoArmwrestling

When he comes forward, he’s probably attacking your shoulder and putting your arm outside your body. Start working on a low hand toproll, that’s your best counter for a hook.

Your explanation of thumb pronation technic using Denia as an example doesn't make sence, since you say it only works if you you are posting (high nuckles) but denis is always doing it with a low grip. I don't know how he does it to be honest, I tried it out and it simply doesn't work for me, but, he's clearly low handing while doing it and it works very well for him (obviously, he held everyone with it).
@KevinPalkoArmwrestling
Жыл бұрын
Just because he’s grabbing low doesn’t mean he’s low handing, that would mean his wrist is dumped down. He’s still rising and pronating, but grabs lower on his opponents hand. He is a true freak of nature
@Pepe-pq3om
Жыл бұрын
@@KevinPalkoArmwrestling Never thought that was possible, gonna try it out. An interesting thing about Denis is that he's able to grip lower on his opponents because his thumb is lower in his gap, leaving a big e gap between the top of his hand and his nuckle. Also, do you have any Idea on why he does it? Wouldn't it be an advantage grab the opponent's hand as high as possible? Specifically since he's not low handing like you said
@KevinPalkoArmwrestling
Жыл бұрын
@@Pepe-pq3om I’m not sure why he does it exactly. It could be due to his wrist size and short range of motion. Denis often can’t get very good wrist flexion because of his size, so gripping lower might help with that
