In this video, I go herping with Rob and we catch a few species of snakes (catch and release). During this, I discuss a few tips on how to speak Thai. Firstly we cover the infamous "ง งู" sound which is the "ng" sound but at the beginning of the word. I also drop in a few other words for good measure.
Bangkok has a lot more wildlife than people realize, Rob and I love to explore the nature and see all the animals. I particularly like seeing the snakes in Bangkok. They have both venomous and non-venomous species as well as the reticulated python (which we didn't see this time).
We typically don't see the monocled cobras at the time we go out but this time we saw a dead one which looked like someone had killed it. Bangkok is also home to the king cobra (not a true cobra) which is the longest venomous snake in the world. Both the king cobra and the monocled cobra are EXTREMELY dangerous so don't approach them.
It goes without saying that unless you know what you're doing, you shouldn't touch or approach snakes in general.
As for learning Thai, I hope these tips are helpful for those of you who enjoy leaning about the language.
