It comes from the activity of the hypothalamus in response to hypovolaemia (low volume of blood) and hypotension (low blood pressure). In our circulatory system we have receptors for both. These receptors send either neural or hormonal signals to the brain to respond and/or make us feel thirsty.

Thanks, explained eloquently. One thing though, you don't mention "adhesion". Instead you place that characteristic under cohesion as well.
