I love my Prophecy. I audibly gasped when I found it in a used music store. Like stumbling upon the holy grail in Indian Jones.

Prophecy was the first DSP synth released by KORG. It was released first as a low-cost version of OASYS, which was released later. Thanks for finding Prophecy and being impressed!

@@satodatejunn4345 Konnichiwa Satodate-kun. That is why I was so happy to find it tucked away on a shelf at a used guitar shop. The sounds it can make I can't replicate on any other virtual analog synth. I remember trying out a Prophecy when I was a teenager working for my uncle's stagehand company but it was too expensive for my budget at the time. We used the Prophecy's "Clavi-Animal" preset in this song, and even the song name was inspired by it: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yn6oyauCipOEd2U Eventually I have to take the unit apart and solder a new 1/4" output jack for the right channel, it gets "scratchy" and drops out so only the left channel outputs audio. That's the only complaint I have about it, other than that it's an excellent synthesizer and very inspiring. Sometimes I even forget it is monophonic!

What an excellent physical modeled sounds here: sax (!!), trumpet, slap bass (!!), flutes! I'm really impressed. So many interesting, even unique, authentic sounds. And I always liked how the hardware synths generate the classic chiptune-like, 4/8-bit blips-blops, arpegios, fx, etc. - it reminds me the golden era of the old video games (Famicom/NES (as the Dendy - our famous "premium" clone X))

Thanks, Vladimir Q-Trinity -san! At that time, besides KORG Prophecy(128,000JPY), physical model sound engine synths were YAMAHA VP-1(2,500,000JPY) and VL-1(500,000JPY). These synths are the origin of the current soft synths.
